    I heard this yesterday. I was going to start a thread but I didn't want to pick on Texas again.

    From the tape it is obvious the guy is in trouble. The 911 operator spent considerable effort trying to convince the guy not to do it.

      It's not Texas, Wezil. That's the ****ing point.
      Piss on this. I don't need the aggravation of listening to idiots.

        I apologize if I've slandered your fine state. I can't get Oedin's link to actually open. I'm in my purgatory office today so I'll do some looking when I get there. If I'm wrong I shall make amends.

          My searching indicates this happened in Pasadena, Texas (Harris County).

          Have you guys kicked them out of the State Sloww?

            So if a Canadian does something stupid, Canadians as a group are stupid?
            Because Oerdin is a dumb****, all Californians are dumb****s?

            That's ignorant.

                Crime Rates (per 100K)

                Murder:

                NYC = 7.3
                Texas = 5.9

                Texas crime statistics, Texas , Texas rape, Texas murder, Texas property crime, Texas crime index, Texas violent crime, violent crime in State, Texas burglary, Texas vehicle theft, Texas larceny, Texas robbery, rate, Texas, ucr, fbi, index, Texas crime rates, Texas crime stats, Texas crime report, FBI Uniform Crime Reports

                Interesting that Texas gets so much disproportionate attention

                    Gee, you mean a densely populated urban center has a higher crime rate then an entire state which is mostly rural areas doted with a few cities? Who would have thought?

                      Sloww, get off the computer, take a walk, make yourself some tea, take a nap, read a good book, and then come back here. You really need to calm down. Don't let yourself get so riled up so quickly. It only encourages the trolls.

                          Indeed.

                          Plus there are 24 million people in Texas, roughly the same number as in the greater metro area in New York. So by all accounts, we ought to hear about the crime in New York just as often as that in Texas.

                          As for all Texans being rural people,

                          I take it you've never been to Dallas or Houston Oerdin.

                            Reread what I wrote, dummy. I said "an entire state which is mostly rural areas doted with a few cities". Yes, there are cities even big cities but look at an average population density map and you'll see much of Texas is fairly empty.

                              Yes, but you still have around 24 million people in Texas. If what you say is true that means the majority of Texans live in cities, and are not rural people. If you saw an even distribution then yes you could say the average Texan lived in rural areas.

                                I believe this initial assumption is wrong, which renders all the arguments that follow moot. I think Texas gets more press for its death penalty stuff than for its general crime rate. I hear about bad **** happening in New York City plenty.
