This is a good thread been thinking on this one for some time now.

1. They don't have to be models, but they should at least care about how they look. If they're a good partner, my vision will always be a bit rosey.

Yes, to me a good woman looks just as good without her makeup as with it, if she has to gob on pounds of the stuff before she looks good to me, then it doesn't count.

2. Minimal nagging and gossiping. Since this can't be totally eliminated......at least it not being the major focus in their existence. At some point they have to realize that nagging really doesn't get me to do what they want, but just the opposite.

I think it's good to be pushed when they know you are slacking off and should be doing better. That's the good form of this, it's important to know that she can tell me straight what's up without having to worry about hurting me. That's what a real woman will do you won't have to guess whether she's happy or not.

3. A sense of humor. Not obnoxious haha funny but at least can appreciate a joke.

Yes this is really important too. It's nice to be able to tease and tease back.

4. MOST IMPORTANT, a realization that they are not the center of the universe. I know this one is tough and a little of it is to be expected. But drama queens are really too high a maintenance for me. Yes, your father died so it's ok to cry and I'll consol you. But not just because a little static is making your dress bunch up.

Yeah this is a big one for me. To me a real woman puts the welfare of other people before herself. I'm not a fan of the drama queens either.

5. They have to be willing to be my partner and friend, because "to death to us part really means something to me, and while good sex is important, it becomes less important as the decades progress so there have to be other things to keep you close.

Can't say I would agree on this one. It should all be together. Different ways of making each other feel loved and appreciated.

For the most part I have to add a few things.

1. She should be happy to be a woman and comfortable being one. I don't see much of this in most of the women I have met especially at university. They seem really unhappy with who they are and that spills over into other things.

2. She should be able to cook and enjoy doing so. It shouldn't be a chore or a burden, but as a way to give herself to her family. I admit I am not the neatest person, but I would be willing to trade on other things to get this.

3. Family should be more important then her work, or her other things. She should want to have kids and build a home.

4. She should be generous and kind and loving. I'd want someone who put herself last always. I've seen a few women like this who do everything for everyone else and put themselves last.

5. She should be smart and intelligent and be able to hold her own.

A real woman is 3 dimensional, carbon-based, and human. As far as what I desire in a woman, I would like her to be attractive, of course. Personality is independent-minded but not domineering. That gets old fast.

Let me be clear. I am talking about someone who is very unselfish. Surprised that out of all the traits I listed people have a hard time with someone who is unselfish.

I don't get it where submissive = putting yourself last. Submissive is something else altogether.
