The Off Topic 2008 Celebrity Dead Pool - Sign-up Thread
In fact, I'm tempted to start a Who Has Next Psychotic Episode Pool.
Good gawd. Harder than choosing a Dead Pool.

Fine. because yall are my friends i will walk away from all of this and let yall have your fun with your "Dead Pool"
Let me say one last thing however: If a celebrity i like/admire/look up to kicks-the-bucket and i see a bunch of jackasses dancing and celebrating I will NOT be a happy camper and will risk a banning from the admins (and you know that will be bad coming from ME) to let you know how i truly feel.
Then hours later threads all across the world open up titled ,"BLAH BLAH BLAH RIP."
The next few posts will be "YES HE WAS ON MY DEAD POOL I GET 3 POINTS!!"
I've actually considered this and would have no problem with a rule being put in place to prevent it. There will be an ongoing Dead Pool thread and I see no reason why posts of that nature can't be restricted to the DP thread. I certainly don't want to cause any percieved disrespect in an obit thread of the newly deceased.
This of course is a decision management would have to make.

Geez now I'm really scared.

The person is dead, Dead Pool or not. I won't be dancing about it.

AAHZ has a legit point about DP posts in obit threads however. The point of the exercise is not to anger or offend. They aren't a good idea.

You know the best way to not get offended?
Don't enter a thread that you suspect will likely offend you. It's hard, but it can be done. It helps when the thread is clearly identified.

I think it's good and healthy for AAHZ to express his feelings, especially now, when the Dead Pool has been out doing some mild trolling for participation. I certainly won't be celebrating anyone's death, and have no problem separating those events from this admittedly irreverent contest.
I respect AAHZ's feelings on the topic, and his decision to stay away.

I think you miss my point.
I'll take AAHZ at his word that he is done with this thread however... One should be able to enter an obit thread about the recent passing of *enter celeb here* without posts commenting on Dead POol points.

Your list is being processed.
Pick #8 is interesting. You are aware of Rule 23 (d) "To qualify as dead, there must be an actual corpse."? The pick is valid, imho, however you may have an issue trying to make the claim for points...
The #19 "River Phoenix" pick is interesting as well.
All in all, a fine list. Well done.
