ANNOUNCEMENT

I've amended the Scoring Formula (Rules 15 and 16) as per the discussion with Lord Avalon on the 1st page of this thread. Nothing actually changes in how points are scored but the formula is easier to work with this way.

Old ---> Points = 150 + Rank + (100 - age) + Bonus ---> Rank was calculated 1st=20, 2nd=19 etc.

New ---> Points = (171 - Rank) + (100 - age) + Bonus ---> Rank is your actual rank # 1-20

The calculation is meant to reflect Points = Base Points + Age Modifier + Special Bonus (if applicable)

Benezir Bhutto appeared on three lists in total. You had her on your reserve list and both Deep Sleep and LotC had her picked on their regular teams (ranked 12 and 14 respectively). Good call by all of you as you recognised her "assassination bait" potential to any Dead Pool team. Her name has been struck from your lists and all lower ranked choices have been moved up one position.

We can use Ms. Bhutto's early demise as an example of the scoring system however:

Had she survived until the new year Deep Sleep would have earned:

Points = (171 - Rank) + (100 - age) + Bonus
Points = (171 - 12) + (100 - 54) + 20 (Unnatural Causes Award)
Points = 225

LotC would have been awarded:

Points = (171 - 14) + (100 - 54) + 20
Points = 223


A final note: Please confine Dead Pool discussion to the Dead Pool thread. Not all members at this site share our sense of humour and may find our comments in the usual/regular obituary threads to be in bad taste. We've been granted our own thread for this type of talk so let's make use of it.

We currently have 9 confirmed teams and are waiting on another 3 confirmed players to submit. Of course new entries are still welcome but time is running out. The Deadline for entries is midnight New Years eve...
