There isn't a Poly thread about him yet but eagle eyed SlowwHand has noticed.

The DP threads will provide the backup Poly obits.

    Remove from your list.

He wasn't on any submitted lists but is obviously not an eligible choice any more.

    His wiki blurb.

Norman Kingsley Mailer (January 31, 1923 – November 10, 2007) was an American novelist, journalist, playwright, screenwriter and film director. Along with Truman Capote, Joan Didion, and Tom Wolfe, Mailer is considered an innovator of creative nonfiction, a genre sometimes called New Journalism, but which covers the essay to the nonfiction novel. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize twice and the National Book Award once. In 1955, Ed Fancher, Dan Wolf, and Norman Mailer first published The Village Voice, as an arts-oriented free weekly newspaper initially distributed in Greenwich Village. In 2005, he won the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters from The National Book Foundation.

Would it be possible for a long list of celebrities to be put up so less knowledgeable people like me could maybe have a cahnce at compiling a half decent list?
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

              Another potential removal.

Actor who played Mr. Whipple dies By JEFF WILSON, Associated Press Writer
              35 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES - Dick Wilson, the character actor and pitchman who for 21 years played an uptight grocer begging customers "Please, don't squeeze the Charmin," died Monday. He was 91.

The man famous as TV's "Mr. Whipple" died of natural causes at the Motion Picture & Television Fund Hospital in Woodland Hills, said his daughter Melanie Wilson, who is known for her role as a flight attendant on the ABC sitcom "Perfect Strangers."

Wilson made more than 500 commercials as Mr. George Whipple, a man consumed with keeping bubbly housewives from fondling toilet paper. The punch line of most spots was that Whipple himself was a closeted Charmin-squeezer.

The first commercial aired in 1964 and by the time the campaign ended in 1985 the tag line and Wilson, a former Canadian airman and vaudeville veteran, were pop culture touchstones.

He also played a drunk on several episodes of "Bewitched," as appeared as various characters on "Hogan's Heroes," "The Bob Newhart Show," and Walt Disney productions.

                and another one becomes ineligible.

HARARE, Zimbabwe - Ian Smith, Rhodesia's last white prime minister whose attempts to resist black rule dragged the country now known as Zimbabwe into isolation and civil war, died Tuesday at age 88.

At least Mr. Whipple got his own thread.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver hospitalized in Boston

Sat Nov 24, 8:34 PM ET

BOSTON (Reuters) - Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the sister of assassinated President John F. Kennedy and a tireless champion of the rights of the mentally disabled, is being treated for an undetermined illness at a Boston hospital and is in fair condition, a spokeswoman said on Saturday.

Shriver, 86, was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital on November 18, said hospital spokeswoman Emily Parker, who declined to give any details about Shriver's illness.

According to media reports, Shriver had suffered a series of strokes this summer.

Shriver, the sister of Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy and mother-in-law of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, founded the Special Olympics, which is dedicated to the physical fitness of those with mental disabilities.

Her advocacy of the rights of the developmentally disabled was largely influenced by the challenges faced by her older sister, Rosemary, who was mentally impaired.

Two days before she was hospitalized, Shriver was honored for her work with the mentally disabled, at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston.

My roster's about half-full at this point.

If chosen names expire early (before end of year), will we be permitted to replace them? (Sorry, too lazy to look up the rules right now.)

Yes (unless the celebs on your list are really unhealthy good.)

You submit 25 names. This allows you five extras in the event a) one or more are ruled ineligible, or b) one or more jump the gun and can't wait until January 1st.

All three judges lists have been ready for almost a month now and we have yet to have a "hit" on our lists. Maybe we just made poor choices.

The odds of you losing five in a month are pretty slim I think.

He would have been awesome points but he has taken himself out of contention with a false start.

(CNN) -- Kevin DuBrow, the lead singer of the 1980s heavy metal band Quiet Riot, has died, CNN has confirmed. He was 52.

Kevin DuBrow and Quiet Riot hit No. 1 with "Metal Health" in 1983.

DuBrow died at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to TMZ.com. The Clark County coroner's office was examining the body to determine the cause of death, according to TMZ.

                                My guess, it was accidental/suicide.
