    • Nobody has disputed that there are separate genetic lineages, just that these in no way correspond to anything that could be called a race.

All you have to do is redefine race away from a socially constructed phenomenon to a genetically constructed one. That neatly avoids all the pesky edge cases the socially constructed definition has.

I said I support equality of opportunity. I didn't say we had it yet.

I've passed on numerous op's in my life, as I'm sure many (if not most) posters here have. French education was offered free to me through Grage 12 though I chose not to take it beyond grade 8. My outcome could have been enhanced by taking advantage of this opportunity (offered to all) but I chose not to take it. My choice, adversely affected my future prospects (ie. I'll never be PM).

Now, if I had been forbidden access to this opportunity I might be a little pissed about it....

And if that were ever possible, and it won't be, we would have equal outcomes.

Everyone passes up on opportunities. You are saying that blacks pass up on opportunities, that they choose to be unemployed instead of the president for example. You are very wrong.

I mean rational as in self-interested, not void of BS.

Self-interested != rational. People do stupid, illogical things that they think are to their own benefit all the time.

No we wouldn't, but that is something a Communist will never understand so I'll leave it at that.

                Yes, for whatever reasons.

You are saying that blacks pass up on opportunities,

Yes, as you just said "everyone".

Now you are twisting again. I'll presume you want to talk US not Canada.... They do not have equal opportunity. Schools, neighborhoods, racist and discriminatory hiring, etc. The playing field is still not level.

No. You need to explain yourself. If people had equal opportunities then why wouldn't they have equal outcomes. Say we sent every person in the world a check in the mail. For what reason would more whites cash the check more than blacks?

Of course it's not, and you can't make it level, except to change the outcome.

I'm assuming that blacks and whites are similarly intelligent or at least closer to being similarly intelligent than the outcomes dictate.

You're also assuming that every single person, regardless of race, is equally intelligent.

Equal opportunity != equal outcome because it discounts the reality of unequal ability, which is not dependent on race but on a whole host of other things.

                              That's a different argument.

Why do white males consistently end up on top then?
