Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

    • OMG and and all the skeletons are Cylons! So please tell us how the current Cylons totally forgot about all their thousands of years of history, especially since we know they were invented in a completetly different timeline

Actually, after the last season and this episode, the Cylons are probably the worst mechinoid race ever written in SciFi history. The consistancy of their story line rivals LOST.

There is no evidence that Ellen knew herself to be a Cylon any earlier than the other four, and we have seen nothing to indicate that Cavil knew who they final five were. His model might, but his model has also been the most adamant about not knowing because it ios against their "programing" (whatever that might be) as machines.

They had been searching for Earth all along hoping there are people on it. Now that they know what Earth is like, they still need a home, and the admiral wants to find one. Kobol makes perfect sense, it's a habitable planet which also seems pretty well-suited to colonization. And this could start the next cycle, as both humans and Cylons would settle Kobol.

The other Cylon faction knows exactly where Kobol is, so unless the fleet and the rebel baseship are able to either get a permament peace with the Cavil led faction, or defeats the Cavil led faction (both of which are highly unlikely) they can't go back to Kobol.

          • In the Season 3 scene where Cavil boxes the Threes, I got a strong impression that the Cavil model knows more about the Final Five than the other Cylons do. Although now that I think about it, it would be very much like Cavil to manipulate Ellen into doing what he did if he actually knew she's a Cylon. That just fits with Cavil.

That is likely but not definite. Cylons might not have been sharing all information among themselves even before the Cylon civil war. They had a baseship around Kobol that had many Eights on it. We don't know if all baseships have all models on them. If not, it's possible that Cavils (and his allied models) don't know about the events on Kobol.

Given what we saw of Cylon society in season three, it is highly unrealistic to imagine that any of the seven models kept anything from anyeone else prior to D'Anna's change in behavior. Besides, recall that there was a Cavil double agent on Galactica up until Starbuck returned from Caprica. Besides, Kobol is very close to Cylon controlled space anyhow.

As for the cycle, I don't think it is planet specific, just humanity specific, and the Cylon act and behave human besides looking human.

                    Indeed.

But, of course, there will be a battle with the Cavil led faction. There will have to be. That outcome, of course, would be key. Perhaps going back to Kobol is the end game... thought that seems too nice and neat for BSG (then again, it'd be perfect for all this has happened before and will happen again).

                    • A few thoughts:

The last Cylon is Tigh's wife, the ending made that quite clear. The skeletons is Cylon, but not the Cylons we know. The 13th tribe were Cylons, they are, well, us. We died in a nuclear holocaust 2000 years ago. The Cylons living today, are the invention of the 12 colonies and not related to the Earth Cylons, as far as we know. And an interesting question I've seen raised another place: Who came first, Cylons or humans? We don't know, all we know is that both the 12 human tribes and the 13th tribe originated from Kobol. It's all quite troublesome to understand right now, but we probably should try to remember the mantra of the series so far: "All has happened before and all will happen again." It's a neverending circle, which can be broken, as we have been told, but haven't so far.

There are other interesting questions too. Like, who were the gods, which lived with the 13 tribes on Kobol? Where are they now? Do they have anything to do with what's happening? Have there been contact between the 12 colonies and the 13th tribe after the exodus? Who placed the clues sending the humans and Cylons towards Earth? They are all much younger than the time passed since the exodus... And the virus found in the cannister on the way to Earth: It was lethal to Cylons, but not humans. And it was placed quite recently, IIRC right around the time the Earth Cylons perished. Why would they place such a thing on the way to Earth? And if not them, who?

                      • Don't forget, we still don't know what happened to Starbuck. She got resurrected or reborn somehow. Someone or something else is out there, perhaps the "gods" themselves. I'm certain that the authors are going to eventually reveal how Starbuck got back to the fleet, and that may open up an entirely new storyline.

The Nav beacon predates the (most recent I assume )nuclear destruction of Earth by 1000 years.

                            • I'm betting they didn't find earth since they didn't show the planet or the moon plus all the people are cylons. They will soon find the real Earth and have to fight to other cyclons.
