I don't play civ for the combat aspect - there are plenty of games that tackle war better, though war is really their only point. I d miss the older wargames like Steel Panthers... (damned Vistas!). heck, MOO2 had a much more enjoyable combat system (Man, I miss those big space battles. Damn newer operating systems!).

I play civ to build civs, which aren;t just micromanaged unit producing systems. I play emotionally sometimes, holding silly grudges, or trying to gain land or wonders for reasons that aren't simply to maximize shield or gold production. IN short, I would probably die quickly in MP, and thus, I will probably buy something that will enhance my SP experience.

I don't know how you guys can play SP. It's the most boring thing ever. The AI is a total idiot and the game itself is already bland to begin with. There is nothing more pointless than playing vs an AI.

...if you powergame (unless you are bad or a nerd).

You have to power game if you play non-casually or you lose.

And I don't get the point of competative computer gaming. To each their own.

So we're dealing with the sort of keen and piercing intellect who will undertake an activity he deems hateful, stupid and boring, lasting several hours, when challenged to do so by strangers over the internet? On the whole, I think I'd rather be a stupid lackluster player who has fun with his baby game.

EyesOfNight cannot win. If he plays then people would flame him with Elok's point. If he does not play then people call him a silly n00b.

Confucius say: Pride is the most worthless commodity in the universe, according to the basic laws of supply and demand. Everybody's always producing it in infinite amounts and nobody wants it from anybody else.

...alternately, he could get on with his life instead of flaming a computer game on a forum which generally likes it. That's basically the definition of trolling, and unless your name is Drake trolling is not a rigorous intellectual exercise.

Nothing could touch the insanity of the first Civ3 intersite demo game. Nothing. (well maybe the intrasite came close (( someone was flatout got BUSTEed cheating)) but I still think the intersite was crazer.)
