          • Yeah, at the moment it seems so.

However, there's no telling when someone here gets an inspiration and decides to give the game a go.

Hopefully we'll get new participants (and/or old participants returning to action) soon.

            • 1. The Vangaboys' "We're Going to Ibiza" is a re-named cover of "Barbados" by "Typically Tropical" - a short lived duo consisting of Geraint Huges and Jeff Calvert. (short clip of the song, embeding disabled: )

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

              2. After Typically Tropical, Calvert and Huges went on to write "I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper" for Sarah Brightman:

              3. Sarah Brightman covered Simon & Garfunkel's "Scarborough Fair":

              4. Bob Dylan covered Simon & Garfunkel's "Boxer":

              5. Bob dylan also covered Chuck Berry's "Nadine" (no audio/video)

              6. Electric Light Orchestra covered "Roll Over Beethoven" by Chuck Berry:

                  • Gwen Stefani did a version of 'You're The Boss', originally performed by Elvis Presley and Ann Margaret.

The cover design of Elvis Presley's album 'Elvis Presley' (released 1956) was paid tribute to by The Clash with the cover of their album 'London Calling'.

Joe Strummer of The Clash covered for Shane MacGowan at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan (and elsewhere), but also appeared with Shane in Alex Cox's 'Straight To Hell'.

                    Richard Thompson to Sophia Loren.

                    • Glad to see you back participating Molly!

Couldn't find any audio or video to add to that solution this time.

So... putting faces to the names, this round:

                      Richard Thompson

                      and

                      Sophia Loren

Um... Sophia Loren is known for her acting career... did she also sing or perform music? I'm just wondering whether this should be allowed - after all, it's a six degrees game with musicians, not stars of the silver screen.

In Wikipedia, in the article about her, there's no mention of singing, exept the mention that for her lead performance in Aida, her singing was dubbed, and done by Renata Tebaldi.

On the other hand, she is listed under the Wikipedia entry "Italian female singers".

So... let's accept this one, for this once, but I think I'll add a rule to the first post, mentioning that the artist chosen has to at least have one album out, either as a solo artist, or as a member of a band.

                      • Ok, here it is:

                        1. Richard Thompson worked with David Byrne (of the Talking Heads), performing songs live, for example "Psycho Killer" with him:

                        2. Tom Jones alongside the Cardigans covered "Burning Down The House" by the Talking Heads:

                        3. Tom Jones covered Frank Sinatra's "My Way" (the only clip I could find with the song ):

                        4. Sophia Loren co-starred with Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant in the film "The Pride and the Passion"

                        Next artists posted shortly...

                          • Just checked out of curiosity (as I was suspecting this might be a hard one), and quite surpricingly, connecting these two is fairly easy.... and the shortest path (that I found) doesn't even need to involve Ziggy's more famous father.

So... any lurkers wanting to try the game out, this'd be a good opportunity to jump right in. Just make use of YouTube and the resources mentioned in the first post, and you should not find it very difficult at all.

Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley (David Bowie and Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull) have all 'acted' or appeared in films...

In any case, Sophia did indeed sing:

                              The music only link was:

Richard Thompson- Fairport Convention- Ashley Hutchings-Steeleye Span-Peter Sellers-Sophia Loren

Peter Sellers played ukulele-banjo on 'New York Girls' from Steeleye Span's album, 'Commoners Crown'.

                              • Hmm.. Not sure if this is the shortest route.

Ziggy Marley sang "Three little birds" with Sean Paul

Sean Paul opened for Mariah Carey's Adventures of Mimi Tour in 2006

Mariah Carey covered "The Beautiful Ones" originally by Prince

Prince covered "Nothing Compares 2 U"originally by Sinead O'Connor

Enya provided spoken (not sung) vocals on Sinéad O'Connor's debut album, The Lion and the Cobra

Enya is the sister of the lead singer of Clannad (Marie Brennan)
