    • Liked the story behind "Mystery Girl".

Ok, for this round was a tough one, that actually turned out to have a very short solution. One thing I learned was that the Christian Rock scene is VERY insular. Here's the solution, only three steps:

      1. Rebecca St. James performed with Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys:

      2. Backstreet Boys participated in an all-star charity performace of the Marvin Gaye song "What's Going On", alongside with a buttload of stars including Gwen Stefani:

      3. Moby collaborated with Gwen Stefani on the song "South Side":

Only the most intelligent, handsome/beautiful denizens of apolyton may join the game :)

          Bravo!
Never knew that Brian Littrell was singing on the Christian scene. That looked like a church service.

I actually found another 3-step path, however, it involved John Lennon.

          rebecca covered Lennon's "Happy Christmas"

Red Hot Chilli Peppers covered "I Found Out" originally by John Lennon

Moby toured with RHCP in 1996

              • That was a shorter path than I expected, connecting the last round's pairing.

As for this round, looked difficult at first, but after I found that first step, the rest wasn't hard at all.

[EDIT:] It wasn't hard because it was the wrong solution... Found a valid path though, this time through the RIGHT Paul Young, the not-so-famous one. Here is the revised solution:

                1. Ashley Mulford was one of the composers/lyricists that wrote the Michael Learns To Rock song "I'm Gonna Be Around":

                2. Prior to working with Michael Learns To Rock, in the 70's, Ashley Mulford was in a band caled "Sad Cafe" with A (not THE) Paul Young and Ian Wilson.

                3. Paul Young (the non-famous guy) was a member of Mike + The Mechanics, which was a side project of Mike Rutherford, a founding member of Genesis

                4. Phil Collins of the Genesis covered Elton John's "Burn Down The Mission":

                5. Martyn Joseph covered Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" on his album "An Aching and a Longing" (no video/audio)

                6. Martyn Joseph also covered Joan Osborne's "One of Us" on his album "Far From Silent" (no video/audio)

                • OOOOPPPS!

Just had a hunch that something might be wrong with my last solution, and did a little double checking... it appears that the Paul Young in "Sad Cafe" wasn't THE Paul Young but rather just an avererage guy (or at least less famous) Paul Young. People shouldn't have other people's names!

So the previous round is still in effect - I'll try to find another solution, and, of course, anyone else getting it before me is more than welcome to butt in.

[EDIT:] The solution is now revised - turned out that the non-famous Paul Young was the key after all. Apparently he wasn't completely worthless after all.

                  So, the next round then:

                  Eleni Mandell

                  and

                  Sting

                      • This one turned out to be pretty easy:

                        1. Hayley Westenra covered the Kate Bush song "Wuthering Heights":

                        2. Kate Bush covered Elton John's "Rocket Man":

                        3. Jamie Cullum also covered "Rocket Man" (here's a performance with Brandi Charlie):

                          • Just bumping this up to see if there might be people interested still. If this round's too tough, let me know and I'll give you a hint... tried this myself, and found a path very quickly, but I think that was because I spotted a link to an artist I know well, and so two of the steps came right from memory.

There is actually a way to replace that last step by a musical colaboration... through PJ Harvey.

                                Here's PJ with Tricky:
