What Ming said is true. Once you get past Eyes' blustering, duals on small land, he's extremely lethal.

My memory is a bit hazy but I seem to remember Philosophy being a big tech. Wasn't first to it got a free tech and could build Mikes Catherdral?

There used to be an awfull lot of 'dropped connections' when a player got that!!

For all the flack Eyes gets about cheating, I am always amazed how quickly he turns to that excuse whenever he gets his ass beat. Not too long ago he was playing some guy, I forget his name, and after losing Eyes claimed it was my old friend Buddy (Bud/Kaysa/thestub/etc) and that he was cheating.

The real reason Eyes believes he is so godly at this game is that every time he loses he finds some excuse to explain it away. Oh he had bad land, or he had bad huts, or the other guy cheated, or...

Of course when he gets good land and good huts then it is because of his superior skill.

He may not be Buddy, but he definitely cheated. I haven't seen anyone come out yet and say that they too have gotten their first 2 huts as both 100 gold huts and then gotten a third 100 gold hut after getting 5 total huts. I also in all my years of playing have never played anyone that did nothing but rush build horsemen, settlers, and barracks in the first 10 turns of the game. We both know you haven't either. In addition, since I am the resident expert on how to cheat in this game, why don't you explain to me how to make the timer appear to freeze without hex editing. I can do it with hex editing, but I sure as hell can't figure out a way to do it without it. Yet again Ozzy, if you can't come up with anything to back up what you say then shut up. I presented saved games and screenshots, what did you do? Also, I haven't seen one person on here yet rush in here and say that you were good at Civ2 or that you used to beat me.

Actually, I'm a huge fan of team games. A 7 player game is just boring and takes forever. I'm all for setting up a team game, that would actually be fun. And here is a large map, 2x1x game against LRY:

Also, what you guys are really saying at this point, is that one on one you can't beat me, regardless of the setting. This was the same argument used against me when I was on gameleague and was number 1. All these idiots kept demanding I play these big huge games that were decided by score. Why would I ever play a game decided by score? Seriously. We can play whatever size map you want in a 1v1, we can play 2x2x, 2x1x, or even 1x1x (boring), just so long as it's not Deity. How many of you here can claim to play all those settings on all those sized maps?

Actually the timer freezes quite a few bit when the other player is doing city maint. during the cycling of his cities at the beginning of the turn. It's not necessisarily that the person is cheating. We have also experienced it when we were all in the same room playing so we know no one was cheating.

And at the same time why don't you stop dissing deity and just state the truth. It hampers your style of play so you don't have as big of a percieved advantage. It's boring to you because it slows you down and you prefer not to have to deal with it. (and don't hide behind the happy wonder arguement that you always toss out at this point.)

Also, I'll "dis" deity as much as I like. All the good players over the years did too. It slows the game down and lowers the ceiling of play. There's a reason casual players and outright beginners start off on Deity. I also wrote a nice little post back there about why Deity is not suited to MP which you made no comment on. The "you don't like deity because it doesn't suity our play" argument is old and doesn't have much to back it up...much like the claims of the rest of the beginners on here.
