I'm still on the win percentage hall of fame. The ladder inflated after I left and I got knocked off the skill rating hall of fame. Also, unlike a lot of those guys on the win percentage hall of fame, mine were 100% from 1v1s. So I had like 70 wins and about 5 losses at one point or something like that.

Ha, how can you claim win percentages when you've already said you don't have to report losses from other games cush as mine and Ozzys'? You also got banned due to none reporting, which further pads the stats. Really Eyes, you can do better than that. Or not, as the case may be.You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Ok, now you're just flat out lying. I've never been banned from that ladder...EVER. I was never ever accused by anyone of not reporting. I reported the games vs ozzyKP. You weren't even on the ladder when we played and our game wasn't a ladder game hence no report. In fact, I'm not sure I was even on the ladder anymore because at that point I had just about quit the game. Seriously, you need to shut the **** up now. You're a god damn nobody. You've been on this site for like 3 years and you don't even play on ladders. Who the **** are you to even be talking to me?

Someone has fainlly been boxed in. If EyesOfNight was banned than he is a lying loser. If not Krill is a loser who just needs to research.“...This means GCA won 7 battles against our units, had Horsemen retreat from 2 battles against NMs, and lost 0 battles.” --Jon Shafer 1st ISDG

It would be the latter of that statement. It's kind of like all the people asking if I was a cheater and ****. One of the problems with Civ4 is that beginners had too much of a voice. In civ2, everyone knew who the good players were. Sure, you could make a post, but it didn't mean people would actually listen to you. In civ4, there's no such thing as good players and the ladder doesn't really recognize them. Everyone is on the same level and the ladder just compounds the problem. The number 1 player can have an enormously bad losing record and still be number 1...

Hey Eyes, while we're at it, I'd be interested to know what makes King "superior" to Deity level in Civ2. To me, it's a counterintuitive statement. I'm really curious.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Emperor is hardest. At least on Deity you get 2 settlers.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Are you playing against the AI or are you playing against a human? Deity was created with the AI in mind, not with the human in mind. If you recall, Civ 1 had 3 unhappy people on Emperor level and it was the highest level. Well, the only way to make the game harder was to increase unhappiness since they have never been able to make a decent AI, thus Deity was born. Notice the AI doesn't suffer from the unhappiness effects? In MP you aren't playing vs the AI, there's no reason to spend most the game fighting unhappiness and an incredibly overbearing riot factor. Civ3 and Civ4 both followed the same trends in terms of tying the hands of the human player. In fact, when Civ3 came out the corruption and unhappiness was so bad they had to actually patch the game. The question is on Deity are you playing against the human player or are you playing against the settings? When your cities start getting mad at negative numbers, it's obvious you're playing against the settings. If you play on 1x1x this is made even worse. Happy wonders on deity are way overpowered. Also, Deity forces you to play one way. Your options are severely limited and you are forced to go at a slower pace which allows a lesser player to keep up (much like Civ4 but not to the same extent). Statue can also be too overpowering in the right hands since you can go communism and negate the riot factor (obviously fundamentalism too but then no science). I won't even get started on the ridiculous imbalances of 1x1x.

For the record I wasn't terrible at Civ2 as Eyes claims. I've beat him countless times. Was he better? Yes. But I certainly wasn't terrible.
Of course I was good at a variety of settings... not just one. I didn't invest all my time into playing newbies to inflate my ladder ranking either.
But yes my very first two Civ4-MP games were against Eyes and I beat him twice. He was so shamed to be beaten so badly he swore of Civ4 forever and has retreated to his Civ2 comfort blanket.
The first game he sent all chariots and horse archers against my well defended city of spearmen and... surprize! He lost. Surely the game must be rigged. Or I cheated. Or the combat system sucks. Surely...

Hey Eyes... (and everybody else)
Can you guys tone it down a bit. While the Civ II'ers are all used to this type of thread, and are highly entertained by it it in the Civ II forums... This isn't the Civ II forum.
Feel free to rant and rave, beat your chest, claim you are the best or that somebody else is the worst... but enough with the personal insults and the "shut the **** up comments.Keep on Civin'

You were quite simply terrible, and were we to play again I could point out all your ridiculous mistakes and your incredibly poor expansion. In addition, I have played on all settings, and the only setting I really refuse to play is 1x1x Deity. I went through and beat Markusf and the others on 2x1x, 1x1x, large maps, medium maps, and small maps. Also, you flat out lie when you say I played newbies. Let me tell you how that is so easy to spot: The gameleague rating system didn't allow you to play people too far below your rating. If you did, even if you won, you could still lose points. It forced you to play people at your rating. In addition, there were countless topics that I made, some of them may even exist, of me challenging people in the top 5 because they kept dodging me. I also didn't quit Civ4 after losing to you, I quit when the 1v1 duels degenerated into 3 hour long catapult+axeman stack wars that went nowhere. You were well into the bottom half of gameleague, now shut the **** up and go back to Civ4 with the rest of the newbies.
Why don't you tell the good people about that great trick you used to do where you'd disband units after the other guy bribed them?Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

For the record I was often in the top 10 or top 20 on GameLeague. I just didn't take it as seriously as EoN did, because, ya know, I had a life.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012
