    Haha
He doesn't know it yet, but if he comes out of this he probably will be in a wheelchair for a long time so we are already planning to take him to concerts. In his wheelchair he will gey the best places and someone has to accompany him

We made a lot of jokes these last few days...

Well, your friend is lucky to have friends like you and a girlfriend who stands by him during the times it really counts. Some people have to go through these alone.. that must suck.

Good news, and keep an eye on the girlfriend (Jetje?) - your friend has worries enough.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

You'll regret this when you'll be dragging him through muddy Pukkelpop or Lowlands

Keep up the good spirits and keep good care of Jetje especially. Remi has a lot of professional staff around him, she's likely to have lost a pillar for the time being.

Did they bring him to Nijmegen (Radboud ) or even further away?

The road to recovery is a long one and he will need a lot of support from those cloest to him, the girlfriends and you. I do wish you the strength to help him as he adjusts to his situations.

That could be a very good thing, because the brain slows down when it's hypothermic and it needs less oxygen, which means less brain damage from lack of oxygen.

                (Hopefully the last) update

Sorry that I didn't update this thread a little more but these last week has been kind of hectic and I haven't been online that much.

It is unbelievable. Not a week ago I was sure he wouldn't make it and tonight I was actually talking with him. They moved him from the intensive care to intermediate (?) care and after operating on both his heels tomorrow they will probably move him to a normal hospital room.

He still has a long way to go (don't expect him in the next NY Marathon) but the first and most important step has been taken.

Thanks for all your support, you guys (and Mrs. T of course) are the best

I'm going to mail the link to this thread to Jet so see can see for herself why this is and always will be my favourite internet hangout.

Good to hear that his head issues seem to be straightened out.

                        Thanks for the update.

Keep going in and visiting him and seeing how everything goes.

Don't you dare to let this be the last update

I want to see him walk up to his ankles in the mud at some godforsaken Dutch summer festival

I'm happy to hear we can even hope for such an event
