Do I like my current rates -- nope
Did I like the cost of my house-- nope
Did I like the cost of my car-- nope
Do I like the cost of groceries-- nope

NO matter the price, I would like to pay less-- BUt the market prices are otherwise and I accept that.

All you seem to do is whine about how unjust your situation is yet you seem to do nothing to improve your situation and crap all over potentially interesting threads.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

I was responding to Ming. He said he though 50% tax is too much. I said that I think 50% rent is too much. Some how people took offense to that. You told me that crap happens. So I say to you the same thing since you seem to have taken the argument up for Ming.

I already told you that. Everyone has to buy food, but not everyone has to pay rent. Furthermore, not everyone gets to live wherever they want, but some do.

well the reason I see 50% tax as too much as I don't see the need for government revenues to be that high in the current situation. The canadian and Alberta governments are already in a surplus position so they are collecting more than adequate revenues for their purposes at this time

I didn't like Fresno anyway, but I really don't think I would like Witchita either. Of course I can't afford to live any place that I would like to live, and If I could I would have to bend over and get it much harder than Pekka with his overtaxation.

Ok-- I probably would choose a different neighborhood if money were no object but economics selects who gets to live where. BUt if economics were not the decider, you would need some other method to decide who lives on the beach OR have it become so densely populated that it becomes Less desirable for everyone

Well I don't think rent should be that high, but that's the market price, so we have to pay it. In places in California peoples incoms aren't going up but their rent sure is. I have particular people with people having to move from a city just because of this and some people not being able to get a place to live at all. And rents are going up everywhere btw. Not everyone can move. It is expensive.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

Back to taxation-- I also trust myself to make better decisions with my money that what the government would do on my behalf. Bottom line is that we will not get a tax increase here at this time as the politics and popular opinion is so opposed

My problem is that a class of people benefits from this and another class pays for it (and they don't live on the beach). I don't think thats necessary.
