Dallas kicks Houston's ass on restaurants.
Balls. I can get damn fine $2 bahn mi or tortas anytime I want. I'd bet that Houston's better than practically any city in the country, besides NYC and SF, in terms of food. 'Course sometimes you have to drive an hour to get it...

The topic's food, not traffic... And I'm sure Dallas is just as bad.

IIRC, Houston is the U.S.A.'s largest city, area wise. So that means a lot of driving...if I know what I'm talking about...which I almost certain don't.

Dallas' new stadium looks to be fantastic. Granted, 1 billion should look pretty nice.

I made the point in the NFL thread.

Arlington is paying 325 million of it, what was half the estimated cost at the time.
Now it's a billion, and Jerry Jones is paying the balance, 675 million. Going to be cool. The Rangers, Mavs and Stars play in nice buildings that are historical-type architecture. Cowboys is today and tomorrow.

I prefer DFW over Houston, although I don't really go to Dallas proper that much. Denton has what I need.

I'm in Richardson. Just close enough to Dallas.
Work 3 minutes away so thats all good.

Just as a sort of personal FYI.

Do not move to Texas. Do not work in Texas. If you have relatives in Texas encourage them to get the hell out. Find a different state to work and live in. And if I had to chose a place in Texas in which to live, I would pick the geographic point farthest from Houston. I would oberve these rules as if my very life hung in the balance. That is my advice to you.

I will not be responding to anything further on this. Sorry.

only bad thng I can say bout houston is the traffic is two ties worse then anywhere else. Bad thing bout dallas to many dry counties in which case you have to drive 45 minutes to an hour to just get a beer.

How does it compare with the traffic out in Austin?

I heard lots of things about how bad it was when I came down.

Austin is much smaller than Dallas or Houston, but it's growing.
I hope it doesn't get out of control.

Except for a few hold-outs (cough, Irving), most of the cities are wet for beer and wine sales.

Traffic is bad in both cities but Houston has crazy traffic.

I remember doing an install there about 15 years ago. We were in a hotel 1.5 miles for the jobsite and it took 1.5 hours to get there. I would have walked if it weren't for the equipment.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.
