Publicity? Power? Kerry's leading role in the anti-war movement is what launched his political career...

And have you ever considered that the quote you provided was referring to SOME soldiers who actually did commit atrocities or bragged about such atrocities?

His comments refer to testimony given during the Winter Soldier Investigation.

If Guilliani runs he can turn the whole war issue around. He can stand at a debate and tell America that HE didn't vote for the war while his opponent (assuming the opponent is Clinton, Kerry or Edwards) crossed party lines to vote for it. Especially if the next 2 years don't get any better under Democratic oversight.

She dont need to win 60% of the vote. No ones going to win that anyway. She needs a solid 51% of the vote, spread well electorally. Who cares if 40% of the electorate hates her with passion, while they dont hate Clark, or Gore, or whomever. Those 40% are going to vote GOP anyway. The question is who can hold the base, and reach ENOUGH of the center to win. Im unpersuaded that A. She cant or B. Anyone else can.

The thing with Hillary is the right hates her with an unholy passion while the left is lukewarm at best about her. She doesn't have that big of a base of support despite having a lot of people who hate her guts.

Yeah -- so there were street protestors who were all about spitting on soldiers when they got back from Vietnam. Do you honestly think that those extremists represented the more sensible, mainstream voting demographic groups??

The majority of Americans were likely disgusted with the extremists who spitted on the soldiers. So my point still stands -- even during that time period, if the majority of Americans were not as extreme as those particular protestors, Kerry certainly was not looking to gain political capital by presenting, oh what does Drake call it . . . . . .
