All two outstanding races - the dems have Missouri. Tester is leading in Montana, as is Webb in Virginia.

then the two independents would have to side with them. That's a long shot though possible.
Lieberman has already said he would (and I don't see why he wouldnt, assuming we wants to be reelected ) and somehow I doubt that a socialist will be bloc-voting with the Republicans

    • And Webb is now up 8k in VA. I'm not quite as worried about absentee ballots anymore.

        • Of all the ****bags I would hope Allen in Virginia wouldn't win. That would just mean the Republican voter supression efforts had been successful since Allen has been the worst offender.

          • Latest Senate results are 49 Republicans, 47 Democrats, 2 independents, and 2 races still to close to call. Allen leading in Virginia so voter supression may have worked.

All in all this is a good night for Democrats even with the dirty tricks and voter supression efforts of the Republicans. Especially when you consider that 40 Republican seats in the Senate weren't even up for election this year. That virtually assured Republicans of not losing control. There is still a possibility of Democrats gaining control of the Senate but it is a very long shot.

                            • The Dems have won the House. What about the Senate, is that a sure thing yet?

Even if that's the case, I'm not sure if that's a good thing. We'll just have to listen to the Republicans whine for the next two years.

At least when liberals whine it's about legitimate issues. Republicans just whine for the sake of whining.

Oh, yesterday I got to use an electronic ballot. The election judge asked me if I'd like to use it (since they only had one machine). I asked him, "Is it safe?"

He paused and gave me a really awful look. It was like I insulted one of his kids or something.
