Maybe they were "upgraded" to the humanoid models?

damned little, I want to see merchant vessels, factories, farms, shipyards, etc. All we've seen is the res ship, and a refinery complex.

I think there seems to be a clear heirarchy with the non-humanoid cyclons as a lower class to the humanoid decision makers.
I'm starting to harbor doubts about this, the original model cylons probably created these as an experiment, and don't care too much for them now if they have been cut off from their resource base.

We're going to see a lot more of Cylon society in the rest of the season.

          Spoiler:
Ron Moore has said that we'll get to see the Cylon homeworld and (much more of) the inside of a base ship over the course of this season.

            Well, Good.

I believe Baltar is going to be one of the reasons for that.

Pretty gutsy move by the old man,
                  Spoiler:
dropping the Galactica into the atmosphere to launch Vipers. But he got a warm welcome when he got back up in space.

Well, GePap, you were right about what Lee did.

Holy crap, did the cylons really frak with Kara or what? At least she's good with a knife.

Tough episode for Saul. But he did what he had to do. Now fire up the still.

Wonder what the pop # is now. Over or under 45K?

Yeah man, giving her someone else's baby and telling her it was hers. That's cold, real cold. Looks like the Cylons really are machines.

I was first awestruck, then cheering when that happened. I hadn't watched the preview part of the intro so it came right out of the blue (heh). Amazing episode.

A pity they had to get rid of the Pegasus, I liked the interaction between the two ships and it would've been interesting seeing Lee as commander of a crew that at least before the New Caprica storyline wasn't exactly on the best of terms with the Galactica crew. And it's also the predictable, cliché thing to do, everyone saw this coming the minute the Cylons arrived on New Caprica last season.

Oh well, such are the constraints of television...

I'd be surprised if it was more than 40K. There were only like 49K people before the NC storyline to begin with (and that was before the nuke destroyed Cloud 9 and at least several other ships) and months of occupation had its toll. We only saw little bits and pieces of the evacuation but there was a big battle going on and it looked like a lot of people died -- in his podcast Ron Moore even insinuated that not all ships made it off the surface (which makes sense). Not to mention the battle that took place in orbit...

Well, for all we know that woman claiming Casey (sp?) was a Cylon herself, so technically we don't know if it was her baby or not. The real mind-**** is on us

re: getting rid of Pegasus. This episode (as well as being totally kick ass!) seemed to pay respects in some aspects to the original series. In the original series, Pegasus is found and then goes away and Baltar (as Count Baltar) rides with the Cylons. So some nice little touches there.

Nah, that's not paying tribute anymore. It would've been paying tribute if it had disappeared with its faith unknown after the Cain storyline but Moore thought it was more interesting to keep it around, change the dynamics of the show (which I couldn't agree more with, having the ship disappear again is basically using the reset button). This time around it just had to disappear for practical reasons, as Moore explained in his podcast (they needed the set space for the stuff I mentioned in the spoiler tags in post #79).

The Baltar thing is partially a tribute probably, but also just makes sense for the show: what better way to tell us more about the Cylons than by having a main character ride along with them?

Well, I'm sure there is a bit of tribute paying even if it wasn't the primary aim. Pegasus leaving us and Baltar going with the Cylons does seem to echo some of the original. It is nice that both happened on the same episode.

And they crammed both onto arguably one of the best BG episodes ever... nice.
