As Slowwhand pointed out, Colt is following Young, tough to do, but there again, Texas had its share of distractions this week and Ohio State took full advantage if them

OSU didn't get 4 of the first place votes. This early in the year, that's more than fair.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Some more good games coming up this weekend. Can't wait!

Besides Notre Dame v. Michigan, there's USC v. Nebraska which could be very interesting. I'll definitely watch it, if it's broadcast nationally.

LSU v. Auburn and Miami v. Louisville are highly-ranked matchups, but personally I'm not too interested in them (no offense to fans of these schools).

Edit: Interesting. There are two nationally televised Saturday night games. Nebraska v. USC and Florida v. TN. Both good games, but I'm more interested in Nebraska v. USC. Also, the TV schedule is stacked (NBC, ABC, and CBS) at 3:30 Eastern.

Yeah, but Texas was pretty much dominated by OSU on the whole. The whole team was clicking, the defense, the passing game, the running game all looked top notch. And I think Troy Smith looks like he'll win the Heisman, though it is still early this year.

Just because I more or less whiffed on last weeks big games (picked both winners, but thought they'd be close), there's no reason I shouldn't project the winners of this week's monster slate.

TCU over Texas Tech, in the Both Top-25 Teams But Who Really Cares Bowl.

Oklahoma over Oregon, in the Holiday Bowl Rematch/See How Overrated The Pac-10 Is Bowl.

Louisville BIG over Miami, in the Can The Media Please Stop Fellating Programs From Florida Bowl.

Tennessee upsets Florida, in the See Above Bowl.

USC HUGE over Nebraska, in the Brave, But You Guys Aren't Quite Back Yet Bowl.

Notre Dame over Michigan, in the Annual Loss In Their First Road Game Of The Season Bowl. (Last time Big Blue won their first on the road, we were all worried about the Y2K bug. No joke.)

                  And, finally,

LSU over Auburn, in the Guaranteed To Be The Best Game Of The Month Bowl.

You think OSU should be unranked, dont you?

Also, I should mention that somehow-still-ranked-#9 Florida State, as bad as they are, will still manage to beat Clemson, because Clemson always chokes in games like this.

I note that Saturday's ND-Michigan game is for all the marbles: Best all-time winning percentage in college football.

Michigan is 851-280-36 (.7446) in 127 years of play
Notre Dame is 813-266-42 (.7440) in 118 years of play

                          Big Time Game!!!

                                Backup Punter Goes OG

Have you guys seen this? Strange.....

                                Northern Colorado backup punter arrested
GREELEY, Colo. -- The University of Northern Colorado's reserve punter was arrested Tuesday, accused of stabbing his rival in his kicking leg.

Mitch Cozad, a sophomore from Wheatland, Wyo., allegedly attacked starting punter Rafael Mendoza in a parking lot in Evans on Monday night, Evans police Lt. Gary Kessler said.

Mendoza, the Bears' first-string punter from Thornton, was treated and released from the North Colorado Medical Center Monday night. Coach Scott Downing said Mendoza will not punt for UNC in Saturday's game at Texas State University.

"I don't know how long he'll be out because I haven't talked to the doctor," Downing said.

Cozad, Mendoza and freshman Zak Bigelow had been in a three-way race for the starting punter's job in preseason training. Mendoza has averaged 37.6 yards per punt on nine punts in the two games so far this season.

Cozad is facing second-degree assault charges and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a bond hearing. He was suspended from the team, evicted from his residence and expelled from school on Tuesday, The Greeley Tribune reported.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
