  • 6-3 Vikes at the half. Bears look balky and out of sync, with bad clock management and WAY too many penalties.

      • I said it would be a good test.

Lovie Smith has wasted both of his challenges already, both on plays with little chance of being overturned, and (MUCH more alarmingly), little to be gained even if they were. The lost timeout from the first stupid challenge cost them a FG attempt at the end of the first half.

        • Ahhh... nothing like the Texans to help an offense. Brunell is looking great for the 'Skins. Though the return of Portis could be it as well...

            • Indy goes up 21-7 (I'm assuming they make the extra point) on a Manning keeper.

              • Jesus... Grossman has thrown 35 times already... why don't the Bears, you know, run more?

                • Carolina-TB is coming down to a last second FG attempt by John Casey....

And it's GOOD! CAROLINA WINS! Tampa is 0-3!

                  • Peyton's first TD in 4 years.

Minnesota has done a good job of stopping the run. The Bears have only been able to move the ball through the air.

                    • Seems like it was a fun game in Detroit. Both QBs looked like they played well. Favre showed why he's the best player in a Packer's uniform.

                      • The Bears win despite their own errors.
                        --INT for Minny TD
                        --many, many penalties (10)
                        --poor tackling

BUT -- Tommie Harris rips the ball loose from Taylor to get the ball back. Grossman capitalizes with the only offensive TD of the game, then the defense holds.

                        BEARS WIN!

                        • That type of loss is so much more insanely frustrating in so many more ways than the previous two.

                            • Congrats to Mark Brunell, who today set an NFL record for consecutive completions in a game with 22.

I think Gruden may have wore out his welcome. His sticking with Simms and not having veteran backups (paging Brian Griese) has really hurt the Bucs so far.
