  • If I was Jeff Fisher, I'd cut Collins and go with Volek and Young.

And I'm wondering if we're about to see the return of Jeff George in Oakland. (Although why anyone would consider playing behind that shabby O-line is beyond me.)

    • Aaron Brooks is on his way to becoming a footnote in NFL history.

Terrell Owens broke his finger early in the game, and kept it a secret until near the end. Has o have surgery and may miss 1-2 weeks.
I was a little surprised he would deal with the pain, after a summer of stationary bike riding.

      • If I was Jeff Fischer, I'd do the same. But we know he isn't. It was a dumb move to bring in Collins. He isn't familiar with the offense, he isn't that good, and you end up pissing off Volek, who thought he was the starter until half a week before the first game.

In TO's mind there is a HUGE distinction between practice and games that count (especially if they are nationally televised).

          • Looking forward to Monday Night Football next week. The 2-0 Saints go home for the first time since Katrina to face off against the 2-0 Falcons for early control of the NFC South.

This week is the good game. The Saints may be 2-0, but they aren't that good.

              • I think Derrick Frost is my favorite Redskins player! And I'm still convinced that the three GENIUSES Gibbs, Williams, and Saunders are tricking the league into thinking the Redskins are a bad team. Nope. We're so good we can play our first two games - a conference game and a division game - like they're preseason and it won't matter. 14-2 baby!

Perhaps not, but they will have to be pushed along by the upswell in emotion and the crowd. Should be fun at any rate, though they didn't have to turn it into a mini-SuperBowl (with halftime music and whatnot).

                    • The Bears are going to win the NFC. (barring catastrophic injuries)
To us, it is the BEAST.

                        • After the Seattle game, I'll have a better idea... and then we'll see how they play against the northeastern teams on that away stretch they have in November... but even though it's early... the Bears have a very good chance of winning the Super Bowl.

They have the best defense in the NFL. If it stays healthy, and if they execute, they'll just continue to hold teams to less than 20 points a game.

And now with Grossman playing like he is, they have an offense that puts them over the top. Again, it's too early to make any solid predictions... but I like what I see so far.

They just have to continue to execute.

                            • Redskins fans, I have a question about the current D.C. debacle:

Why did the Redskins bring in Saunders? Last year's offense didn't seem that bad; I thought the problem was the lack of WR depth rather than scheme. Thanks to the injury to Patten, they didn't really have anyone behind Moss.

They Skins fortified themselves at WR over the summer, but then IMO sabotaged themselves by scrapping their old system and adopting a super-complex new system. Why didn't they just stick with last year's scheme? They've greatly improved their depth at both WR and RB, but no one seems to be on the same page. Add in the fact that you have a weak armed, over-the-hill QB and I think that the O is in serious trouble. I fear that, by the time they get things in the new system straightened out, they'll be out of contention.

Once again, lack of continuity will torpedo an otherwise promising season for the Redskin.

                              • Gibbs was out of football quite a while, and his thought was that the game had maybe passed him by. He still makes decisions or certain things.
