The teams that were locked last season were by the two people who repeatedly made very personal insults and attacks that were clearly in violation of league rules. Without mod intervention or the common sense and decency to knock it off, and repeated warnings to do so.

That's why I want the commish to be a reasonable person and to have that review power. Hell, we can ask that 'tiki not use the power himself, but only do so if someone like Flubber or Ming agrees with those who protest a trade.

Edit: and you need to differentiate between comment on a trade and complaints about it.

We have 9 now and 3 who said yes who are not in 'tiki's league yet (Sava, Tingkai, Pekka).

Ben's a maybe.

Yet to be heard from, but likely suspects or very interesting additions would be Imran and Serb.

There was a another guy last year who missed the deadline that I can't think offhand. I sent him a PM but his box was full.

We have some time yet. Last year a very slow draft went from Sept 10 to Oct 2.

And Asher: Complaining about trades is like complaining about ref calls. And just like ref calls, few trades get changed under the voting system.

In theory; in reality there's several very active very vocal players on here that have axes to grind and a despicable attitude to go with it. Combined with a very short voting period they cover a huge portion of the votes that'd be counted.

And good to see that the Poly league is just like every other league I've been in: People *****ing left right and center about trades.

Perhaps I've been blessed by only being in leagues with genuinely bright people (largely colleagues and friends from school), but this is the only league I've ever been in that people have protested any kind of trade between two consenting other players. It's a horrible mixture of personality conflicts, greed and jockeying for position of close competitors, and inexperience with such a system.

All of the other leagues I've ever been part of have been mature enough to recognize that if people make a trade, it's their gamble -- a Big Brother vetoing system is just bizarre, obtrusive, and yet another tool for several players here to manipulate for their advantage.

What ever happened to it being about hockey. The players that whine about the "fairness" between two consenting players are no better than people who protest what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home. It's something that really gets to me.

Every pool I've been in, and a lot that I've watched from the sides, have had their fair share of whining and yelling about trades. And despite all the complaining, probably only 1% of the trades are ever blocked.
