Hey, I don't think I said anything bad about anybody. I love my cousin and I like my grandfather, despite all the grumpiness and the fact that he's pretty unapproachable, having not learned sign language nor efficient lip reading.

actually I think I would enjoy shaving a woman. . makeup I really don't care that much about anyways. I like nice hair, but I actually prefer straight hair. How can you **** up straight hair?

Yeah Ben but you see, it's a cultural thing here, not talking. It's like, I can go somewhere in a car with my good friend adn not talk for the whole trip, even if it took us 2 hours. And we would not feel uncomfortable. We like to give each other some space (like Japanese do, to avoid uncomfortable..), so while some people think it's bad manners or being too inactive or even rude for not making an effort, we actually appreciate it (like Japanese do). It means nothing, it has no hidden meanings, it's silence, period. If I have nothing to say, good, then I don't have to talk.

So... just not talking is fine and great for me, even for longer periods of time. Walking and not talking is even better, I think it's stupid to walk and talk, if you're going for a walk. You can talk later. But if I go for a walk, I'd like to appreciate where I'm at and the moment.

Well I don't know the lady. If she's like me she would like to walk just to talk.

Also, if someone has to concentrate a lot while reading lips or trying to hear with them aid things, you know what's the point, like you said, it must wear someone out fast, it's like I really would need glasses for class..

It's like glasses really. You wear them so you can hear other folks and be a part of things. You hear better with the hearing aids on, so if you want to hear your sweetheart you make sure you have them on and that they work properly so they can.

So, I would understand that when you have to really concentrate.. it's just not that simple, it's demanding physically.

It is, but like I said, it's worthwhile because you can hear better. Like in As Good as it Gets, you want to be the best you can be for the other person.

It's like people don't know how to act. They are like 'don't look at him, he's been ridiculed enough in his life so just ignore them' or 'be nice to them, you have to show compassion'.

It's that cold compassion that is more difficult to deal with then anything. You know that people really don't want to hurt you but they don't want to get close either. To them you are always the 'deaf kid' a nice guy but too different for them.

are there any other things you can do to impress except treat them like everyone else?

They may have many friends that like them but certainly wouldn't want to be their boyfriend. Those kind of friends are nice to have. If you are interested in her in that way let her know by what you do with her when you take her out, let her know that you are interested in being more then friends with her, particularly the physical aspect.

For some of the hearing folks, not all, they feel like they are in a bubble growing up. They are protected from other stuff since people won't want to hurt them, but also it keeps other people out.

And hey, when you say it's going to be annoying at times, and she's going to miss things and be upset..

I'm just saying. You will get angry with her and you will get frusterated. She might not even understand why you are both. It's something that you brush off right now, but it's a big deal in any kind of a longer relationship!

Yeah but it ..forces you to put some effort in it all the time. And I think that might make the relationship a lot better. Because you always do it, plus that you have to take the other one in consideration more, and she has to take you in consideration a lot as well, so you have a strong base, so if you just at least like each other, you should have no problems or big issues, I mean issues like 'this pancake is cold you made me!1' is not really an issue then, or if it is, we can get pass that.
