Hm, Lorizael has a good point...
    Spoiler:
in that sense, it was a bit of backpedalling. Perhaps they just didn't see Roslin becoming so important (and liked) before season 2, and originally did plan to kill her off pretty soon. There are many ways for her to fill the prophecy yet, of course.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

      Maybe
      Spoiler:
her illness was a vehicle for her to get the visions?

Hmmm, seems kinda weird to have a series of posts composed of blank boxes.

Although you do have to consider that...

        Spoiler:
...she was given cancer in the mini-series, when they were not yet sure if BSG would become a full-fledged series; they may not have considered whether or not she was going to survive.

          Exactly. And moreover,

          Spoiler:
no one says the cancer is completely cured. It may just be suppressed and passive, but still lurking out there.

            Spoiler:
IMO, Occam's Razor says if something doesn't make too much sense or ends in a deus ex machina, a majority of the time it is the result of the writer not really thinking things through... and not usually because of a 'plan'

Unfortunately I kind of agree with you, but the whole bit was at least well done.

I watched the mini-series. It was OK. A number of things were bugging me, though. Why is there a trail of smoke behind the missiles when they're in space? Anyway, its a detail. However, I feel that this series will get old real fast. Despite that, I rented the first DVD of season 1. We'll see...

Yeah, four seasons sounds good to me. I'd prefer it to end properly in season 4 than to drag on like some successful series - it's going to lose quality on the long run no matter what. I just hope they won't have a problem with renewing the show near the end of filming S3 so that they can plan out the end and not have to blurt it out. That or perhaps we'll see another miniseries to wrap things up if the show's cut a bit short.

That's true. Nothing sadder than a series where everyone knows the current season is one (or more ) season too long. For shows like this, with large dramatic story arcs, if they go on too long they just become very, very stale.

Yeah B5 stops short of brilliance because they rushed out the end to season 4 as they weren't sure what would happen with season 5.

Interesting take on Occam's Razor. And by interesting, I mean misleading and inaccurate.

I basically agree with the idea Imran presents. But Occam's Razor is properly invoked in philosophical arguments and in scientific investigation. It is most definitely NOT applicable to human behavior (such as the story plotting of a fictional television series).
