Having given it some thought, I now consider a tight and intriguing Brazil - Italy meeting in the next round as highly plausbile. The reasoning being that the Italians, true to their tradition, do just enough to move on and draw with the Czechs. At the same time Ghana beat USA and win the group, this means Ghana on 6 points and Italy on 5.
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

We want to trash Brazil, but in the Final
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Ah... it's the Italians playing the worst match of the year. All this whining, but can't credit the American defense... nope. Hell, the Americans dominated midfield play for most of the 11 v. 11 play.

Though it is fun to see the divers whine.

[q=Victor Galis]But seriously, I really think Italy should have won 2-1 if they hadn't cancelled a perfectly good goal.[/q]

You keep saying this, but you still haven't figured out that after the whistle blew right as the ball was played, Keller didn't even try to go after the ball?

You could dive your way to victory, but wait, Brazil gets all the calls! What is a manipulated ref to do? Oh wait, the Italians have some money they can spare!

Possibly-- but the Italians will probably want to avoid Brazil early and if they both finish first they would be on opposite sides of the draw

A first place Italy could get Australia or Croatia.

A second place Italy would likely get Brazil and then possibly Spain

Envy is sure an horrible thing. You can sit and relax while watching the US team learning the lesson against Ghana. Then we'll see if their "bravery" will work against a team of players running twice as fast and not getting their legs destroyed by the American butcherers.

Envy? Of people who fall down at every wind gust and cry for the heavens? I think not! I'd rather lose than be such wimps and bad winners/losers. There is a reason everyone hates the Italian football team. I suggest you find out why. And try not to fall down on your way to the library when doing said research.

And I'd rather play physical football than the 'dive & whine' style of the Italians.

The fact you think it'll be 0-5 shows how little you know about football outside of your backwater country where bribing refs and taking dives is considered to be proper football .

Haha, when will the first real american football hooligans start to appear? That shall truely be the day that americans have come closer to the sport than ever.

Tomorrow we can start mapping out the final round for real, I would expect Germany to beat Ecuador 1-0 and win the group. Meanwhile a 1-1 draw between us and the english mean we face the germans and them Ecuador.
