    Hi,

    I help coach a kids 10 - 12 y/o soccer team here in America. One of the things I noticed about the American WC Team was that they didn't seem to know how to take a dive the way the Euros did. My question is when do the Europeans start to teach their kids how to take a dive, as I am wondering if the 10 - 12 y/o's I coach are too young to be taught this?

                Damn, they're supposed to teach you how to dive? My football career could have advanced a lot further if only my coaches had done this to me.

                  After careful consideration, I've decided that I would support a 1.5x goal, where you are fouled, but score nonetheless. That way, players would be incentivized not to dive.

                    Consider more...... The defender is more likely to foul (and do it properly) if he's stopping 1.5 goals....
