BTW, US shouldn't qualify for the second round. Do you REALLY want to meet Brazil?
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I'd rather meet Brazil than go home a week earlier . And besides, maybe lightening can strike again, since we beat Brazil in the semifinals of the 1998 Gold Cup .

I guess a tennis score-defeat is better then

The last time the US and Brazil met in international competition it was 2-1 in favor of Brazil in the 2003 Gold Cup. Before that, the US beat Brazil in the 1998 Gold Cup 1-0. And before that, Brazil beat the US in the 1994 World Cup 1-0.

If by tennis score defeat you mean by one goal, then you'd be spot on. Otherwise, it is obvious you haven't a clue what you are talking about .

If Roundaldo keeps starting for Brazil, I wouldn't write the U.S. (or Ghana or Czechs) off... That's assuming Brazil tops their group (Aussie Aussie Aussie).

the US and australia play physical because they cannot keep up with the finness of other teams. thats it. thats the same reason why central defenders also play physical because you cannot expect to come up against henry, ruud, and owen week after week and expect to be quicker than they are.

now the italians on the other hand . . .. every single attack that failed for the italians ended up with one of their players floppin around on the ground . . .FACT.

                  FACT.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

US managed to get a tie because of an OWN GOAL, against a team playing the worse match of the last year, that suffered a mental breakdown from those 5 minutes where they went from 1-0 to 1-1 and 11 against 10

I agree completely. although the italians also lost it against the swiss in geneva on may 31st. De Rossi lost his nerve (same guy as before) and fouled Xavier Margairaz so hard you felt the whole stadium shake.

De Rossi is an habituè of such stupid actions, no wonder the Italian committee asked for a harsh punishment as well. Personally I think that he shouldn't play in the national team until he apologizes (today he said "hey, who doesn't move the arms when jumping?")

But seriously, I really think Italy should have won 2-1 if they hadn't cancelled a perfectly good goal.

For example, let us look how it was commented on swiss tv:

Bad foul play! Oh, red card?! An excessive call in my opinion. Red for Pablo Mastroeni? Ouch, straight red card? Yellow, yes...(but) red? I would put a question mark there. A clear foul play, of course, but straight red? Looking forward to the replay.

(replay starts and apparently some FIFA official put his gun on the commentator's head) Well, it was a hard attack...it was a hard attack...dangerous to health. Yep, correct, I think the red card is justifiable. I correct the first impression and say: yes...(end of video)"

Oh about the video on YouTube featuring the Italians diving. That's team England. You can see coach Sven Goran Eriksson and some black players.. that Italy doesn't have..

Now, now, no need to godwinize a perfectly great whine thread about the evil America hating FIFA referees.
