Oh about the video on YouTube featuring the Italians diving. That's team England. You can see coach Sven Goran Eriksson and some black players.. that Italy doesn't have..
I don't know who made that video, but it was at one point circulated as a Chelsea training session. I certainly don't think Sven stars in it - I expect it's some pub team 'avin a larf.
After some of the discussion on the 'physicality' of the game, Ghana vs USA should be interesting, as the Ghanains are big blokes and very prepared to 'mix it'. 'Elbows' Essien in particular might serve up some spice.
I didn't think the US were outrageously dirty, or the Italians outrageously divey in their match, but I thought the USA gave an inspiring performance for a team with a man down, and were also the better side early on when Italy scored. The way they went for the win at the end made for a great game, and if they'd played like that against the Czechs they might have got something out of that game, too.
I had expected better from Italy though, after their strong performance against Ghana.

A little further down the page, it's also called 'German training'.

Yes. Even the whole non-anglo american media seems to be involved.
For example, let us look how it was commented on swiss tv:
Bad foul play! Oh, red card?! An excessive call in my opinion. Red for Pablo Mastroeni? Ouch, straight red card? Yellow, yes...(but) red? I would put a question mark there. A clear foul play, of course, but straight red? Looking forward to the replay.
(replay starts and apparently some FIFA official put his gun on the commentator's head) Well, it was a hard attack...it was a hard attack...dangerous to health. Yep, correct, I think the red card is justifiable. I correct the first impression and say: yes...(end of video)"
Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.
Only the american media should be trusted. Which apparently never make mistakes with its coverage. BTW. Can you contact me via icq when you finally found the dangerous WMDs in iraq? Thanks.
You got trolled, but amusing response nonetheless.

Haha, when will the first real american football hooligans start to appear? That shall truely be the day that americans have come closer to the sport than ever.
I can't see our goons being drawn away from football and hockey for soccer though. As rough as soccer can be, it can't hold a candle to either football or hockey for violence, and goons are drawn to violence. Also, Americans are only dimly aware of the national team during the world cup. The rest of the time they aren't on broadcast television, and rare enough on cable. Professional soccer is pretty weak in the U.S. in terms of being televised as well as attendence. So most of us see our national side for 1-3 television appearances every 4 years (if we watch), which isn't nearly enough to properly give a damn.

Just to say that there were two important decisions in that match which were called incorrectly.
1) The Italians should have had a penalty in the dying minutes of the match - some blatant shirt pulling in the box (no diving either).
2) The free kick which resulted in the US's goal was given against a tackle made by an Italian. The tackle was fair. It shouldn't have been a free kick. This was right under a lines mans nose so he can be blamed for it.

How about the Italian dive which led to the free kick, scoring Italy's only goal? Or better yet, the handball in the box by Italy? Yes, when it struck the Italian, it was incidental, but then the Italian swung his arm so the ball flew farther than it would have under a normal incidental contact.
