sneaky things like distracting the cavemen with small relatively innocuous objects like a serving of gatorade are permissible though I would think? Or does that make it unfair?

In that case, the astronaut should make his cell phone ring and use the ensuing confusion to his advantage.

In that case we need more detailed information. Is the combat to occur in our time or that of the caveman? In other words, how bad are the roaming charges going to be if you are 100,000 years from the nearest cell tower?

ahh but realistically just how much tactical advantage can such weak parlor tricks provide? they can put the enemy momentarily off balance but with multiple people on boths sides and no massively decisive weapons like firearms I wonder if it would be enough to make a decisive difference by itself.

I like the idea of it being in a temperate climate place in the cavemens time but it wasn't specified and probably doesn't matter apart from the sticker shock when the bill arrives if the astronaut (or more realistically his decendants) lives to recieve it all.

If the astronaut were to win the combat due to the confusion created by the cell call, but die of a heart attack due to the cell bill sticker shock...

                I'd have to cry foul.

So lets build a story around this.

An astronaut goes into space but during reentry gets transported back in time but he doesn't realize that. He thinks he's on a different planet until he discovers the statue of liberty...

so, it was really the statue of liberty that transported them back into time and in fact set up the entire conflict correct? Otherwise why would it arrange to be present in that era?

Maybe we could set the conflict somewhere in between? How about medieval Europe?

Right Geronimo, we'll have to make the astronaut go into the future, think he's on another planet until he finds the statue of liberty. Problem then is...no cavemen in the future. Perhaps some sort of resurgent ape creature...

Colon, medieval Europe? no statue of liberty then either. What were you thinking?

What about ancient Rhodes then? They also had a pretty big statue.

Ignoring S/G relativity effects, ~100,000 lightyears - 9.46E20 m. You can draw your own conclusions. I don't know the cost of roaming charges, though.

That doesn't matter if the astronaut gets someone else to call him.

Wolves are much stronger than any dog out there.

There's very little out there, not even on Wiki on this subject.

measured the bite forces of three dog breeds using a computerized bite sleeve, the American Pit Bull Terrier generated the least amount of pressure out of the 3 dogs tested, (the other two dogs were a German Shepherd Dog and a Rottweiler).

Powered by 1500 lb/sq. inch of pressure, a wolf's teeth are its main weapons as well as its primary tools.
