Hmmm...revolutions are illegal? I guess we should pull down old glory and throw up a british flag. And while we are at it, let's give scotland and ireland their autonomy. As far as the post, Really ted? Because I thought the part at the beginning, about immigration papers, visas, etc, would clue you in to the illegal immigrant reference? And I'm surprised someone as astute and intelligent as yourself can't recognize the social accommodations we make in the US for Mexicans and wonder how these things would be received in Mexico without calling it racism...

Since clearly you need this, i thought i would post it for you:

    rac·ism ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rszm)
    n.
The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

the initial post, made no reference to superiority, discrimination, or exuded prejudice. It was social commentary aimed at humor. Grow up.
"Mal nommer les choses, c'est accroître le malheur du monde" - Camus (thanks Davout)

"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

Please explain how bilingual initiatives constitute "social accomodations," in light of the fact that English is not the official language of the United States. Please furthermore explain how it is that you know these initiatives - which could well be for any spanish-speaking person, including citizens, residents, and non-Mexicans generally - are accomodations to "Mexicans."

Good point about the revolution. Most of our entire country was founded by illegal immigrants. Except we got our land by stealing it by force and killing a bunch of people.

And so the focus of your post was about Mexicans but it's not racist

Wow...so now focusing on a group of people is racist? Did you read the definition? I posted it for you right up there. I'm sick of you uber sensative whine bags trying to turn everything racist. It's ridiculous. And I don't think that was meant to complain about bilingual initiatives, but mearly to point out that expecting such in mexico would be ummm...comical. Have you ever been to Mexico? and if so, have you ever been some where in mexico that wasn't turisty?

You can make observations about groups of people without those observations being racist.

by the way, I like how you tried to completely change the subject and start spouting off about illegal revolutions etc etc when your weak arguments were broken

I could care less about your stupid definition and on top of that you don't even meet the requirements of it in the first place

Maybe you missed the "Discrimination or prejudice based on race." thing

So you're down on both counts

ted come on...discriminating involves an act, like treating someone a certain way because of who they are. The initial post doesn't promote that.

                  and prejudice-
                  prej·u·dice ( P ) Pronunciation Key (prj-ds)
                  n.

An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.
                  A preconceived preference or idea.
The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions. See Synonyms at predilection.
Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion.
Detriment or injury caused to a person by the preconceived, unfavorable conviction of another or others.

again, the post doesn't fit the criterion. You really shouldn't so irresponsible throwing words like that around if you don't even understand what they mean.

haha....right, I started with racial slurs? false.

                                As for

An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts. --> CHECK
ummm...What part of that post has no truth to it? Or are you too far removed from the problem to even know?

A preconceived preference or idea. --> CHECK
Again, nothing preconceived. The reason that is humorous is because those are all things you experience.

The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions. --> CHECK
repeated and repeatable experience kind of kills the unreasonable part of that. As for preconceived, i covered that already.

Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, --> CHECK
There was nothing there to suggest suspicion or hatred.

But again, why bother with what's really posted or true when everything makes so much more sense in whatever fantasy is going on in your head.
