So if I get it right, it's Ok for nazis or KKK members to gather somewhere in Washington and start agitating for killing Jews/black people or someone else? To prononce speaches glorifing Hitler or some kind of local nazi butcher who slaughtered hell knows how many people because they were "inferior" according to his point of view?
It's shoking, and actually I can't imagine that.
Well, at least you don't make martyrs out of them. And members of your government do not open memorials dedicated to SS members.
I don't think you get it. These people don't march and assemble because they have the assent of the government, they march because it's their inalienable right to march, regardless of the nastiness of their beliefs.
When you talk about the purposeful incitement to riot and maim(?) specific people or groups of people, no, that is not a "right".
However, don't take my word for it: I'm sure there's video of clan and neo-nazi gatherings somewhere on the net - check them out and tell us if they include language you "can't imagine". It likely won't take more than 10 minutes.
And the reason America doesn't "care" is because... well, **** - look at the fools. 125 people in some rally in Pennsylvania, half of them unemployed hillbillies? Who gives a flying ****? I'm more concerned about the fact that they're unemployed hillbillies than they are "neo nazi's".
Are you deaf? In Latvia SS veterans are treated as heroes, while veternas of anti-Hitler coalition treated as crap. That's the preoblem, not your crappy crap about equality of rights.
And for your knowledge, nazi parties are illigal in Russia. So, YES we don't believe in right of to be a nazi jerk. As long as your are nazi and marching throught the streets waving nazi banners and shouting nazi speaches - you go to jail. Facism is banned in Russia aside your and Baltic nazi wounderlnads.
Russia doesn't believe in free expression. Check. Thanks for verifying what I believed.
And another BAM with "SS treated as heros" while anti Nazi forces are "treated like crap". Any cites to back that up?

He so doesn't get it. I think we've shocked him greatly.

Ok, Ok, I see your point. But as for me, sometimes to ignore certain issues is not the option. Nazism should be banned anywhere.

So you are against free expression as well? Good to know.

Yes, we don't believe in freedom of NAZISM.

Oh man, you are so pig-ignorant and still think you can argue about the topic?
Ok, check this for example (are you so lazy that can't type "Latvian nazism" in google?):
" Latvia Refuses Soviet Veterans Benefits
October 14, The Latvian parliament rejected amendments to provide supplemental benefits to Soviet veterans of the Second World War living in that country, Regnum reports.
The Latvian Seim (Parliament) has rejected amendments to the law “On Defining the Status of Persons Politically Repressed by the Communist and Nazi Regimes” introduced by deputies from the group For Human Rights in United Latvia. They were strongly opposed by members of the radical nationalist group Homeland and Freedom/Movement for the National Independence of Latvia.
Yakov Pliner, chairman of the former group, stated that Latvia is in a unique situation, in that Latvian SS members who fought for the Nazis have been granted the status of victims of political repression and so receive significant benefits, while those who fought against the Nazis do not, “unlike in the majority of civilized European countries.”
There are about 12,000 veterans living in Latvia and the government spends about $500,000 per year on their benefits, according to ITAR-TASS.
"Latvian big noses have gone too far in their game of independence where they do anything they like
Fascism has been spreading in Latvia for a long time, causing anger of more or less sensible citizens. Human rights activists of Latvia made one more attempt to fight against the revival of Hitlerism, which includes praising “national partisans
The opposition union For Human Rights in United Latvia is greatly outraged by authorities fawning on these so-called heroes. The latest trick of the Ministry of Defense is considered especially insulting by them. On July 30 brigadier general Vectirans presented prestigious awards on behalf of the Minister of Defense to followers of Hitlerism. These were medals For Promoting Latvia's Membership in NATO. Honorable awards from the high official were not the end. Latvia's military department invested 7,5 thousand lats (which is about 11 thousand euro) into local fascists' promotional campaign. They were also given a luxurious bus. Looks like meetings and trips of Fuhrer's successors will be encouraging to spread Hitler's legacy.
Human right advocates decided to use their last chance by appealing to NATO Secretary General Scheffer. Probably he will be capable of stopping the Brownshirts's zealousness in one of NATO's smallest albeit most unscrupulous members.
The statement signed by the leaders of the above-mentioned opposition union Tatiana Zhdanok and Yakov Pliner says: “We strongly protest against sponsoring pro-Nazi minded revenge-seekers. We would like to discuss the problem of neo-Nazism state-support with your colleagues, Latvian politics.”
Telling about pro-Nazi attitudes of authorities, including the Ministry for Defense, members of the union For Human rights in United Latvia reminded the NATO leader that fascists had formed so-called "national partisans." They were formed from raiding forces, which were left by retreating Hitlerites or landed on the territory of Latvia. They included mostly former SS legionaries and deserters. From 1944 till 1953 they killed more than a thousand citizens and about 600 army officers.
It would be interesting to see whether NATO Secretary General and other high officials, which support democracy, will be able to call down the authorities of a small European country. There are WWII Anti-Hitler Coalition members among those who played an important role in the NATO's formation. Could it be that they are not ashamed becoming political whores?
Fascism is condemned by all rules of international law. Its manifestations are forbidden almost in every country. And all of a sudden the public becomes witness of some wannabees supporting neo-Nazism!
Latvian big noses have gone too far in their game of independence where they do anything they like. The Baltic seacoast became a comfortable refuge for fascists of the XXI century: they enjoy respect as well as financial support. They are set as an example for the future generation. Consider this: no one notices babies growing up and building muscles! The problem of Latvian fascism became acute long time ago, but only at this time we will be able to see whether Western leaders are sensible to it.

// The Waffen SS is in Riga again
Demonstration
Veterans of the Latvian Waffen SS legion held their traditional march in Riga on Wednesday. Members of the Homeland – Russian National Union tried to disrupt the march. Young dressed like Nazi concentration camp inmates blocked the SS veterans' approach to the Monument to the Homeland and Freedom. The police arrested several and allowed the marchers to lay flowers at the monument.
The Latvian Waffen SS had about 140,000 members during the Second World War. About 50,000 of them died in the war or in exile. The activities of the Waffen SS and its Latvian legion were ruled criminal at the Nuremburg Trials. Therefore, in 2000, the Latvian Seim decided to observe the day of memorial for Latvian soldiers not on March 16, but on November 11, Lacplesis' Day. Lacplesis is a Latvian folk hero. Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga called on the country's citizens to “remember those who gave their lives with the name of Latvia in their hearts for the freedom of their country” on Lacplesis' Day and “refrain from activities with this goal on other days.”
Several historians have noted that the Latvian Waffen SS was particularly famed for its cruel punitive operations in Belarus. Nonetheless, according to official Latvian historiography, they “did not participate in repressive actions, and only battled at the front. No Latvian legionnaire has ever been accused in any court of war crimes committed in the context of the legion's activities.”
With the permission of the Riga city council, the SS veterans began in the early 1990s to march annually on March 16 in memory of battles on the Velikaya River in Pskov Region, Russia. That is the anniversary of battles between the 15th and 16th legions of the SS with Soviet Army units in 1944. That was the first and last battle of the Latvian SS legion, since it was decisively defeated by the Soviets.
On Wednesday evening, members of the Russian organization Homeland tried to disrupt the legionnaires' march. They had filed an application for a picket the day before, but it was rejected because picket applications must be turned in three days in advance. Nonetheless, several dozen people in Nazi concentration camp uniforms blocked the march in downtown Riga, near the Monument to the Homeland and Freedom, where the marchers traditionally lay flowers. They shouted “Fascism will not succeed” and “Death to Fascists.” Nearby, two divisions of state police, a unit of Riga city police and a special unit for maintaining order were on duty. In the park along the city canal were mounted police and special forces with police dogs, handcuffs and clubs.
When the legionnaires approached the square, the activists formed a chain. The police broke through the chain and placed several dozen of them in police vans. Former member of the Riga city council Alexander Gilman was among those detained. He reported from the police station that at least 30 people were being held, that they had not been beaten, but would probably be held for 24 hours. (All those detained had been released by Wednesday evening.)
The former legionnaires passed members of the radical youth groups Klubs 415 and All for Latvia and laid flowers at the monument unimpeded. Andris Tobies, a Klubs 415 leader, said that the groups activities do not have political overtones. He said that, since the Latvian Waffen SS legion fought against the Soviet occupation, Klubs 415's activity was dedicated to history and not intended to offend the Russian-speakers populace.
The Russian Foreign Ministry characterized the march in Riga as “amoral and impermissible.” “It is especially cynical since it is condoned by the authorities who on the eve of the 60th anniversary of victory, are seeking support in European capitals for its course to reexamine the outcome of the Second World War and the sentences of the Nuremburg Tribunal, which ruled that the SS was a criminal organization,” a Foreign Ministry statement read. “Only perverted logic can comprehend the situation when legionnaires march through the center of the Latvian capital and the police use force against anti-Fascists.”
