Cheney is going down in flames. Looks like the VP was under the influence. Dick Morris asked a simple question: why didn't Cheney go to the hospital with his friend? Because someone might notice his condition. And I bet the secret service told the local cops to do their duty to protect the country and play along. They wont release the blood alcohol level of Whittington. The hospital has the evidence, or did. Man he must be bummed, he might be in danger of a heart attack himself with his condition.

So what? Just because he's the vice president he can't get sued? Is there some part of his job description that precludes him from being sued.

And maybe someone can clear this up cause I'm not following it, but I was hearing alot of talk the last few days about how he wasn't thinking about the president regarding this, what does that have to do with it?

Not true. Remember, Clinton got sued by Jennifer Flowers while he was still President.

Seems to me what with all the health trouble, government contracts going to his company or one he's on the board of and now this....seems he's a bit of a liability.

He's gone, its the cover up that'll do him in. It would have been possible to keep his position but they tried to cover it up. Alot of people can understand (or even expect ) an accident with a bunch of guys shooting quail and drinking booze, but the lying and using the gov't is too much.

He's not going to have to quit; the average American doesn't care about this. The press is just in a tizzy because they got scooped by a local paper.

he'll have to resign, this is going to blow up because there are just too many people in the country and the media who know its starting to stink real bad. The way Dick Morris put it: why didn't Cheney go with his friend to the hospital? Occam's Razor, because he couldn't risk being seen much less investigated and tested for booze. Thats why we dont know the blood alcohol of the victim and why no one was allowed to even ask Cheney questions until the effect had worn off. If I shot my friend I'd be at the hospital, most people would react that way...unless they were hiding something. But the hospital would be testing the guy who was shot and they'd know if he was under the influence of booze which would bolster suspicion that the good 'ol boys were drinking and hunting quail.

And look at how Fox and friends - GOP media - is telling us the story is over?

To his credit Joe Scarborough over at MSNBC was very skeptical about Cheney's story tonight on his show. He knows what the guys do when they go hunting quail, they drink. He just laughed when someone (Tucker Carlson I think) said most hunters dont drink and hunt.

Nothing will happen to Cheney though this does expose, for anyone who hasn't paid attention for the last five years, that Cheney is a dick. He went had a few drinks (a no no), picked up a fire arm (a bigger no no given the first no no), then he just blasted away without even looking before he shot. After his "friend" (read: lobbiest who was lobbying him) got shot in the face and chest Cheney tried to hide it and then blamed the other guy for Cheney's drinking & hunting followed by not bothering to look before he pulled the trigger.

That speaks boat loads about the man's lack of character.

It wouldn't matter one bit if Morris was always wrong, his question requires an answer and the only logical answer is Cheney hid away because he didn't want other people finding out he was under the influence. Teddy Kennedy did the same thing, he took off and showed up the next day to fess up to driving the car.

That speaks boat loads about the man's lack of character.
