When did I say he was drunk? I recall saying that people were reportedly drinking alcohol and that is never a responsible thing when fire arms were involved. The worst part has been the White Houses attempts to blame the victim and attempting to bury the story. Neither is a crime but both show the exactly the what type of morals the people involved have.

Further more I don't remember anyone, certainly not myself, claiming that Cheney did it on purpose or that he wasn't sorry for doing it. I most certainly stand by the fact that responsible hunters look at what they are shooting before they pull the trigger and that people who don't do that shouldn't be allowed to have hunting licences.

Regarding hunting quail:

I'm an experienced hunter, including some quail hunting. Berz's remarks about drinking & hunting amuse me. I've never been shooting or hunting with anyone who was drinking before we left, or drank while we were handling firearms. That seems about as intelligent as driving while impaired. I would never agree to go shooting with someone who has been drinking. Cheney's one beer at lunch 3 hours before they left would probably be ok, but it wouldn't inspire confidence honestly.
