Erm, yeah, because a hotel is not a museum of tolerance (or in the case of Normandy, perhaps it would be a museum of rememberance).

I still think the idea of building over a graveyard is a bad one - especially if they didn't bother to ASK first. That's just stupid and insensitive, which is indeed ironic, given the reason for building the museum in the first place.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

it's obvious from your posts that you hate israel, america, and "the west" just as much as the terrorists do... (and this coming from the biggest bush hater in america )
I hate what Israel does to the Palestinians on a daily basis, however I also know that organisations like B'Tselem - their link to stuff that is happening in East Jerusalem, not that a morally bankrupt individual such as you appear to profess to be would even bother reading it...

And to "the biggest bush hater in america", that is what I dislike - American foreign policy. Not America itself. It is a great country which I have travelled extensively, I've known some great Americans - I don't follow your own small minded prejudices, consequently I don't hate all of America because of the actions of one man, his administration and the minority of people that voted him into power...

In fact by your definition you must hate America more because you admit to hating Bush so much, at least I don't have to live there so I don't have to deal with what he does every day like you do...

As for the west, anyone reprinting those cartoons is guilty of gross provocation, sure there is freedom of speech but you must know where to draw the line to deliberate incitement of the throwing petrol on a raging fire kind...

I obviously don't defend what the extremists have done, but this sort of arrogance in the face of common sense on the part of the newspapers has played right into their hands...

here in the US cemeteries have been relocated to make way for highways, and such like. If youre gonna do that, I dont see whats the big deal of moving one for a museum. Now the opponents may well have a proper case at law - im not prejudging the legal case. But why is an obscure property law case in Israel a big deal to the Independent - well I think I know why, but never mind.

And Mobius, Im really glad to see your new avatar. Freedom of speech is indeed wonderful - it lets us know where people are coming from.

Are you saying that Az hates the Muslims with his cartoon mohammed with the bomb shaped turban!!?

Freedom of speech dude, I'm just exercising the right that you lot have fought so hard to defend by applauding the decision of the newspapers to continue provoking the Muslim world...

My protest is the topic of this thread.

When Az removes his avatar, I'll remove mine...

That is an entirely different matter, apart from the disinterment connection, it is like comparing apples with oranges...

Actually you often agree with me - that must make you feel dirty inside even having to admit it...

                              that would be awesome
