Monday's game (Calgary versus Edmonton) should be interesting. Alas, I have a final at 7pm Monday night and another 8am Tuesday, so I won't be able to enjoy the victory.

Most teams underestimate the power of a solid, defensive game. You get good defensemen and you can shut down the offense of the other team, and take avantage of their relatively weak defensive game.
That's why Calgary beats Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa, etc.
That's one reason why I say the Oil will play any game you want, but they'll kill ya if you let them skate.(\__/)

A very crappy start to a very new NHL. Calgary has been better than any other team in the NW division in November and December, and that's why Calgary's been chipping away at Vancouver's lead.Originally posted by notyoueither

Also, the Canucks are good, which has something to do with it. Edmonton is lucky not to be bottomfeeders, it helps when teams put their crappy goalies in net to play Edmonton.
