    In FYROM they would simply think you're a nationalist and you use the old flag of FYROM.

    In Thessaloniki, noone will notice. You'd simply be using the symbol of the province Thessaloniki is the capital of: Macedonia.

        Yes. It is. It an ancient Macedonian symbol: the Sun of Vergina. Vergina is a city in Macedonia (not FYROM).

          I'm aware of the symbol and its heritage, I just didn't know they used the same colors on the provincial flag.

          I can concede that making the flag the exact same as the Greek provincial flag was probably not the best idea, and it seems appropriate that they changed it.
