      Who cares what modern philosophy is? I didn't accuse you of being the discipline, I accused you of being a modern philosopher.

        I didn't accuse you of being the discipline, I accused you of being a modern philosopher.
        He's so immersed in Ancient greek philosophy, that some things he says or thinks aren't remotely contemporary, nor modern. He's a bit like Levi-Strauss and his South American tribes, or Dian Fossey and her gorillas. He'll never admit it, but I'm sure he'd love to have hot slave boys

                    They're probably arguing about the ethics of using lab rats right now. Probably got a hefty grant for it, too.

                    Or maybe they're preparing an ethics case of why we should/should not use stem cells.

                    Obviously, they are essential to our society. This is easily represented by the staggering intelligence of the resident philosophers on this forum.

                    I'm glad we trust people like Agathon to discuss ethics, even if they don't see a problem with supporting a company like Apple who go out of their way to lock out competition, and recently introduced an "iPod Tax" for people who want peripherals to work with their player.
