USC got lucky. They definitely aren't unbeatable in my eyes any more. Notre Dame might give 'em a really good wake-up call in two weeks...CGN | a bunch of incoherent nonsense

Damn, ND with almost 400 yards offense in the first half. Oof.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Yeah, yeah, yeah... you've been looking to tear down USC for years.... in weeks where they aren't playing that good at all, they still win and still score over 35 points.
They'll beat Notre Dame. The only question is by how much. After all, they're better than Michigan State.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Gaaaaah, they keep showing that reply of the Alabama reciever's flopping leg. I've never seen the Theisman injury, but I'd imagine this looks just as bad on film. Freaks me out.
Imran, come on, what a fallacious argument to make. Last year Miami (Dolphins) beat New England - therefore any team that beat Miami was better than New England?
I don't think ND will win, but I think that if USC starts slow they're not going to be able to just turn it on in the second half if they want to win.I never know their names, But i smile just the same

This is college football, it's a different story entirely (ie, where one loss means so much... its not like the Miami loss hurt New England last year). ND couldn't handle Michigan State's offense, what makes them think they can handle USC? And the Trojan's D is far better than the Spartans. And it wasn't a case of ND overlooking the Spartans.Last edited by Imran Siddiqui; October 2, 2005, 00:52.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. #1 Texas (+1)
#2 USC (-1)
#3 Virginia Tech
#4 Ohio State (+1)
#5 Georgia (+1)
#6 Notre Dame (+3)
#7 Florida State (+1)
#8 Alabama*
#9 Tennessee (+1)
#10 Miami*
Dropped: Florida, Michigan State
Yes, I dropped the Trojans to #2 for winning, just accept it. They escaped today and they're not going to make it through the year undefeated, while Texas has very little standing in its way other than the demons they must encounter next week.
Notre Dame & Alabama were both highly impressive this week. The Crimson Tide look like the team to beat in the SEC now, and the Irish have now won three straight on the road (the last two against quality opponents) and made it look easy every time. They have what it takes to bring USC down in two weeks' time.CGN | a bunch of incoherent nonsense

Did you SEE that second half? The Trojans rushed for over 200 yards in the second half ALONE. They overlooked ASU, but more than made up for it in the second half. That was an incredible performance by USC.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
