No, those were all away games, so they weren't on NBC. ABC cleared the schedule and broadcast the Michigan game nationally (rightly so, it was a big game, as it is every year, even if either or both ND or Michigan sucks). Pitt and Purdue were ESPN and televised nationally.that's mainly a result of having your own channel.
Let's put it this way. Michigan v. OSU is one of the biggest games of every year, no matter the records of the teams. It will be a huge game this year, for instance. In college football, the rivalries, emotions, traditions, history, etc. matter a whole heck of a lot.
You're way too used to watching the NFL, where these things don't matter too much. Sorry Dan, but there is no way you can convince me that you can have a 'big game' when both teams suck. Alabama - Auburn fans try to convince me of this when either team has sucked. I never bought it. If one or the other or both teams suck, it ISN'T a big game. The atmosphere may be electric in the stadium because of a rivalry, but that in no way makes it a big game. A big game is one that has two great teams. A big game is Texas - Ohio State (which probably will be the BIGGEST game this year... not counting bowls).

Funny enough, there is actually an agreement between the schools on this. Tennessee is UT east of the Mississippi and in Louisiana...Texas is UT west of the Mississippi, except Louisiana.Originally posted by Apocalypse

They also have agreed to the use of certain logos, etc... in the same regions. This is why Tennessee went from its old UT logo to the power T some years ago...They wanted to be able to use their logo anywhere.
It is really a sad thing to me that Tennessee is fielding one of its best defenses in recent memory during the same year it is fielding one of the most inept offenses.
Problem is, they have massive talent on offense...just not using it well.

I officially have no idea what the hell is going on this year--four of my Top Ten lost.
However, I can guarantee this, take it to the bank: Michigan will beat Penn State next week, putting the final nail in the Big Ten coffin. It is simply too poetic for it not to happen.

I've been thinking about the differences between the college and pro games. Well - I'v been reading alot about ND here. My opinion is they are a borderline Top 10 team. That was my opinion about Penn St last week. Penn St earned a spot this week.
The other team that finally earned its spot was Georgia. They finally played and beat somebody.
I see 9 major college teams that are undefeated. And then a bunch of very good team with 1 loss.
There is alot to think about this week. I'll post my rankings tomorrow.
Maybe we should start doing top 20.
