      • LBJ vacationed with these guys in some island off the Gulf of Mexico quite a bit. So that's what they were doing...

          • Keller?

There's a reason why she's on my list.

Well hate to ruin your crush, but Keller really was a communist.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

The Kennedys had the idealism to envision civil rights but not to get the Civil Rights Act passed. LBJ had almost no idealism but he was dripping with political savvy. Thus, after JFK's death, LBJ was able to pass the Kennedy reforms.

But it wasn't civil rights that dethroned LBJ but Vietnam. It was anti-war Gene McCarthy's surprising showing in New Hampshire that got LBJ to withdraw from the race.

                            This is rigged.

                            • I'm voting for Bill Clinton and FDR every week.

Last week my alternate was Eleanor Roosevelt, I think; this week, Neil Aldrin Buzz Armstrong Alden.

                              EDIT
If they were on the list I would vote for LBJ, Jimmy Carter, and Robert E Lee.
