Good! I hope Finns will follow your example on our next election... less people voting means that my vote represents an even bigger part of the population and thus I have even more power
However, the Conservatives will continue to attend at least one Commons committee: the one debating same-sex marriage, to which they are adamantly opposed.

Mixed feelings about this one. I disagree with their position but i think it's a responsible thing to do. On the other hand, It says they will continue to attend "at least" one comittee. Does it mean "only" one committe? If that's the only one, then .
Yeah.

I agree they should be consistant. If the government was defeated a week ago (and that is how you want to spin it) then you should shut down ALL business.
Besides, I have a hard time imagining said legislation will receive final passage before the next vote on confidence, so it begs the question "Why bother?".

I don't. I've seen them ram previous bills like this through the house.
This is why I think, more than anything else, Martin is clinging to power for just a few more days.

They've lost three votes in a row (before today). Liberals can't pass anything until some Conservatives get too sick to vote.
A few days may be enough.

Without a majority to force closure or to even pass bills I suspect they'll have trouble "ramming" bills through the house.
But if one of the sick conservatives died, what then?
That would mean chaos here in Canada.

Liberals are vaguely split on the issue, and the votes on gay marriage are free votes, so members can vote as they like without fear of party discipline.
