    Note the quote around "guy."

Thanks for the info! I've been reading a bit about Enron and have been having some un-PC questions running about in my head.

What did this woman do? Marketing, sales, finance ( "I worked for Enron finance" )?

No reason for that other than I always wanted to say that. And Boris would actually know where that came from.

PR/Communications. That's what my firm specialized in.

Um... well, if JohnT isn't correct, I'm not sure, unless you're speaking of Grigory's Act I outburst against the Tsar in the opera...

I'll never forget the e-mail we got from someone about a job we had posted on our company website. It was for a night-time, part-time document processor, $9/hour. The e-mail basically said, "hey, maybe you'd get people for this job if you offered more than a demeaning wage." Funny enough, that e-mail was sandwiched in between dozens of resume submittals for the same job. We filled it pretty quickly.
                    I've applied for similar jobs.

It's just that I don't consider a part time document processor job to be a career.

Well don't do it. The fact is that if they are offering such a menial wage then the turnover in that position will be very high because people will be off when they find a better position. As I said my last job gave me valuable experience but paid me a pittance so I was off as soon as a better job came along...

Well if the two polar opposites agree, there's no arguing against it

I hate the sight of that guy too, and I can't exactly figure out why. He looks quite a bit like a guy I was friends with in high school and college, which makes it even stranger.

The problem is that folk fart around too much with hiring new people. They'd probably save money and get a better result if they simply threw all the resumes on the floor and selected one at random.

I guess it's because our capitalist pig society is finding it increasingly hard to provide people with decent jobs.
