Btw, been reading some history of teams in the EPL, especially about the somewhat, ehrm, sordid past of Chelsea and anti-semitism. MikeH, with the owner now being a Jew and West London becoming very cosmopolitan how is that past being dealt with?
Just curious, not putting anyone on the spot or anything.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Well Chelsea did have elements of notoriously racist support and the previous owner (along with the FA and other clubs) spent the last 20 years trying to get rid of most of it. Chelsea is so expensive to live in/go and see the team (I only went once this season £50 a ticket!) that loads of the fans you get in there are fairly rich middle class guys or couples... rather than the old school fans.

Was worth it to see the rubbish Newcastle United crushed 4-0 though.

And I had £2 bet on Lampard as first scorer and 2-0 Chelsea as well. Worth about £60 if I won. I think I was about the only unhappy Chelsea fan when we scored the third.

Yeah, I figure that Chelsea's changing neighborhood character would change minds. Especially now it's become so posh. I hear that the stadium has a mall attached to it.
I really didn't know much about Chelsea's past (and the far-right hooligans who backed the team back in the 70s and early 80s) until I read "How Soccer Explains the World". Very good book, btw. I recommend it.
