Israel is doing well, in tying France. But I don't think they'll be able to supplant Ireland at the top.

Ukraine seems to be crusing along... and Holland had another 2-0 game to cruise as well.

Tonight there are more WC qualifiers, though perhaps the Euros won't be too excited

He was alright, he did what was asked of him, but its hard to judge any of ours players performance against such crap opposition. Thought it was pretty stupid of him to run on with one boot on without the linesman telling him he could go back on, thus getting a yellow card. When he took that throw-in from behind the hoardings i thought he was gonna be sent off.

I noticed they also didnt bring Heskey on again, thank god, he probably wouldve ended up with a goal and been picked for the next 2 years.

He got cheered off, moreso for his antics with the ref, he was having fun out there. Hes also the captain, its a shoo-in for a good reception when youre taken off.

It was hardly that from what I saw, and seriously, the team were winning comfortably, something like 5 minutes left, the captain comes off, he doesnt have to have done much really to receive a few cheers.

It mentions Beckham being warmly applauded. Besides, this is hardly the hardest game hes had to play in, of course some of his crosses were met with good chances, their defenders were running around like headless chickens, as expected.

It hardly mentions him in the BBC report.
