and how is this the fault of condom usage??
If the other driver wasn't using his, he would have followed the road.

Do you think the PM drives himself to work?

Seriously, there should be a graduated system at both ends of the age spectrum, with restrictions on both young and old drivers.

If you want to make a non-agist policy that catches people who should no longer be driving, have everyone take full manditory drivers tests every 4 or 5 years.

And do you drive, or have you driven for a living joncha?

Two things will result from this.

        1. The inevitable easing of the standards in the driving test.

        2. The vast increase in the number of drivers tests, and the money paid by the government in order to test that number of drivers each year.

Assuming an equitable population distribution (rather than the inverted pyramid we have,) you would be increasing their workload by, say, on the order of 10x from previous.

Regarding my comment of Prime Minister, does it make sense for a man of a certain age to be unable to drive, yet able to become the Prime minister of Canada?

Well yes, of course, having that much testing will be costly. Much cheaper by far to just ban those over 60.

There should be maximum age limits for elected officials, too.

You mean licences aren't required to be renewed/retaken due to age? I know my licence expires when I turn 70.

My grandfather at age 85 still drives and now gets tested EVERY YEAR with a thorough medical. The government authorities require it every second year and his INSURER requires it every second year as well ( and they are out of synch)

He doesn't mind since he knows his abilities are failing and figures it keeps everyone safer

Yes if the disqualification to drive was not automatic but based on abilities testing. I know folks who's minds are sharp as ever but who's hearing and eyesight make driving something they should not be doing

Actually, a hearing loss does not prevent you from driving.

The only restrictions I have on my license is that I have to wear glasses. I can drive with my hearing aids off, though I wouldn't want to for obvious reasons.

What they find is folks who can't hear become sharper at what they see, and paying attention to the road, because they know they can't rely on hearing things.

Also, I don't drive with the radio on, because that impairs my concentration.

My ideal prime minister wouldn't drive or even be driven in a car.

Rather than revoke licenses, emphasis should be on making cars more idiotproof, with equipment such as collision avoidance, better safety features, and possibly autopilot for highways.

I wonder just how many people are dumber, less observant, and less responsive than an AI?

Yeah, and I'd buy a car, so that the car could drive me.

There is a real passion that you have just in driving, and getting a feel for the road that can be hard to show people who've never felt the same way.

It's what I miss most about my job as a delivery driver,

I can't see myself voting for a man who's ridden busses, or been driven around his entire life.

For driving cars? In ten years, probably most. Now, at least some.

My prediction had more to do with improving AI's than people getting worse.
