It looks like the record for firing Ftorek a few weeks before the playoffs is going to be 1-1 .

However, the announcer then introduced a United States Air Force colour guard along with anthem singer Lauren Hart. Finally, the US air force helps out Canada.
I was glad to see this. The whole booing national anthems IMHO is a complete farce. Philly shows class. Realize of course the folks in the F.U. center are mostly of corporate sponsorship types and the real blue collar folks are priced out of watching otherwise the outcome may have been different.

Heres looking for another Brash/Domi tussle. I so love seeing Domi's expression as Brash chucked him in the pregame.

          Series tied 1:1

Yeah, the people booing National Anthems, whether it be Canada or the US, are just plain morons. Glad to see Philly isn't completely devoid of intelligence. That crowd must not have had a lot of Phillies fans in it

Thanks for the update Reismarck. Very sharp.

That was an awesome game with Edmonton/Dallas

1-0 going into the third period, and before 5 minutes were gone, we had a 3-2 advantage for Edmonton.

Gretzkyish? Dvorak's goal was just like Pavel Bure used to play. Great goal nonetheless.

I'll be rooting for those Ducks. Sure be nice to see Detroit lose in the first round. To Anaheim.

Ain't that the truth. I was back in Toronto a couple of months ago and I wanted to see a game. The last time I went to the Gardens, I got reds for about $60. Now the reds cost something like $150. The best seats were going for $350! It's friggin ridiculous.

And the reds at $150?! And I thought $40 in NJ was too much . Hell, I'm sure I can go see a Thrashers' game for free .

Canucks down 2-1 in the game and 2-1 in the series.

All the other Canadian teams won.

We're still waiting on the outcome of the Detroit-Anaheim game.

As for the Canucks I'm puzzled. St. Louis scored twice on the powerplay, WITHOUT Al MacInnis... Yes, they have had many chances, but still, this was to be the weak part of their team.

What about the Naslund/Morrison/Bertuzzi line? Bertuzzi still played with some spirit, but Naslund got another stupid penalty. Why can't they score? Where have all the goals gone?

Vancouver looked sluggish for the second half of the game, quite unusual since they are supposed to be one of the best skating teams in the league.

I don't know if this series will go back to St. Louis for game six the way the Canucks have played of late.
We'll have to wait and see which team shows up tomorrow night.

                      Ducks Win! Ducks Win!

Giguere is for real. This makes me very pleased. I hate repeat Stanley Cup champions (except when they're the Oilers, er, Protocol).

I like Yzerman, Fedorov, and Larionov, but... they'll get over it.

                      Great game. Great, great game.

                      Go Ducks!

                              Results from yesterday:

                              Senators 3, Islanders 2, 2OT
Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 3, OT (CRAP!)
                              Avalanche 3, Wild 0
                              Blues 3, Canucks 1
Mighty Ducks 2, Red Wings 1

Picked every game wrong. I suck.

Here's where that leaves our series:

                              Islanders 1 SENATORS 2
                              Bruins 0 DEVILS 3
                              Capitals 2 LIGHTNING 0
                              FLYERS 1 Maple Leafs 2
                              Oilers 2 STARS 1
Mighty Ducks 3 RED WINGS 0
                              AVALANCHE 2 Wild 1
                              Blues 2 CANUCKS 1

Detroit's finished. Not even they can do the impossible.

Tonight: A must-win for the Lightning on the road, a chance for the Oilers to get the plum advantage, and the Devils look to get out the brooms and finish housecleaning. Predictions:

                              Lightning 2, Capitals 1
                              Oilers 3, Stars 2
                              Devils 2, Bruins 0
