    The Canucks are way too much overrated. They have mediochre goal-tending at best, and past Bertuzzi and Naslund, not much depth. I don't get where all these grand predictions of Cup Finals and Conference Finals are coming from???

      It's time for my usual hockey loyalty pledge: I will root for whichever team manages to destroy and dispatch the scumbag Toronto Maple Leafs from the playoffs they are not worthy to be a part of.

              Oilers win 2-1 (almost 3-1, if not for the questionable-but-probably-correct high-sticking call). Take the lead in the series. Oh, yes...

              But I hope they don't get too cocky. Pride could be their downfall.

              Never the less, I am very pleased.

              (Especially to see Hatcher get the misconduct; he, Odelein, Lemieux, and Morrow, were just nasty tonight; I'm glad the Oil kept their head in the game and didn't retaliate. Beautiful.)

                          "A deft move by Flyers officials defused the national anthem issue that has dogged some sports events since the start of the war in Iraq.

                          As the public-address announcer asked the crowd to respect the singing of the national anthems, there were some boos at the mention of Canada. However, the announcer then introduced a United States Air Force colour guard along with anthem singer Lauren Hart. The colour guard stepped on the ice behind Hart and there were no boos for O Canada, even a few cheers at the end. No one, not even the Philadelphia fans, who have a reputation for booing Santa Claus, wanted to be seen booing the Air Force."


                          Finally, the US air force helps out Canada.

                            ... even if the rendition was completely saxophonal... but that's okay. I guess.

                                Oh I don't doubt Vancouver will be victorious in the first round. Once they play Detroit or Colorado, they're toast. Yes, I'll be watching.
