Yes, but some of them are bogus claims, and there is only greed behind the claims rather than anything good. We have legal claims over the area, plus Karelia is in BAD condition now, we'd be doing you guys a favour for taking care of it since Russia has so big lands that it's almost impossible to cover everything.

I might also add, that there would not be any economical benefits for us in it, quite the opposite. And that is why the vast majority in this country doesn't even want it back, so in real life it will never happen. People only care about money... what about what's right? It would be a tribute to young men who fought and died there. They'd be rolling in ther graves if they knew that most people don't even care crap because it's in bad shape and would cost us much money. Yeah sure while we're at it, let's kill all the old people, they don't make anymore money to our society, they only sleep, piss their pants and eat. People care too little about what's right, and when there is something in it for them.
But I understand Russian claims too, and I'm little biased, so it's not like I'm 100% right in this matter.

A permanent citizen in this country does not have the right to vote, the right to run for office, and after the last few years, does not even have the same access to Government programs or to legal rights that a citizen has. Why then are they to bear the responsibilities of citzenship without the full benefits?

Oh, and lancer, I am a naturalized citizen and I had to deal with the INS, so I know far more than you, at least from personal experience, about what it means to be an immigrant, and regular reasons why.

They don't want me to join. They're both pacifists or something. Not hippies. Well my mom is a pastor so.. and my father does think that only justified war ever was the second world war. So they were shocked that I would seek for it, actually put big effort to overcome impossible things to be able to come to US, and then fly back to some remote country and do combat. Their threats were not bluffing, and we are no longer in speaking terms, and damn it if that is happening, then I want the chance to join.

If so, then any time a richer neighbor conquered a poorer one, it would be justified.

I agree with you in the sense that sometimes noble mission should be above money.
