speer - i feel bad for palestinian victims too. you can do a search and discover dozens of palestinian stories. news agencies eat those up without salt.

i wanted to bring my own point of view. i hope you're not offended.

infact, that's why i want to go to the army, contrary to many leftists. i want to see events for myself, and i want to affect events.

i'm rather rightist in logic, and leftist in nature. most of my cynical humor is leftist and my emotions are mostly lefty. but logic says that i can't be emotional but rather cold and calculated. so i try to be both.

for me, seeing justice prevail, (capturing or killing those responsible for perpetuating terror, and only them) is revenge enough.

look at WWII: for the jewish people, revenge was not to kill germans, but to capture and try war criminals.

here in the United States, the media tends to be pro-israeli (as is the government generally) so the israeli side is the primary side that i hear in the news.

The one thing that bothers me is that people don't think about why terrorist attacks are occuring. Most of the time, terrorists are dismissed as crazy religious nuts and what not with no one ever asking why do people become like that? The fact is the average Palestinian lives far worse than the average Israel... these terrorist attacks in a way are revenge... the palestinians look at their bad lives and want the israelis to suffer the same so they be strapping on bombs. Something needs to be done to raise the economic state of Palestinians and then there'll be some improvement in relations.

I am sorry of course that people died. I would think that would go without saying (i'm not an ******* people). Sorry about Elizabeth... I'd like to think that she would have done good and her death will not spur revenge but rather make people question the present state of Israel and try to end this violence

honestly, i would think that one's condolences should be expected without saying and sometimes i think it is better that someone expresses their sorriness silently for the spirit of the deceased instead of outwardly showing condolences. Silent prayers and pure, word-less thoughts are better than words.
