Well I don't have external gonads, of course, but my internal gonads function quite nicely, thank you. And so does my brain.

(whispers to the audience) Gonads is a non-sex-specific term for testes or ovaries.

Here's my point... grown-ups know how to interact with potential partners on all levels: intellectual, emotional, and sexual. But unfortunately (for them), some people never quite grow up - they hit puberty and their development seems to stop - and they spend the rest of their lives moving from one sex partner to another, and they never experience the joy of a full relationship.

Thank God you're here Ann. I don't think any of us knew that.

I'd draw a picture too ... but it wouldn't be pretty.

                I think you mis-interpreted monolith94. It doesn't look like he's trolling (or counter-trolling).

Obiwan, yes, you find people like that in both sexes. (Note that I was careful not to use gender-specific language.)

provost h. ann c, that's the wonderful thing about my posts - like the mona lisa, or any other great work of art, they can be interpreted in many ways...

You are probably going for the wrong girls to be blunt about it. Within the last term I've talked to female friends and slightly-more-than-friends and not bored them to death on as varied subjects as current affairs, science, sports etc etc. The main trick is to let them lead the conversation, that way they're interested in what the conversation is about. If the girl will only talk about shoes and shopping and that sort of stuff, you're obviously going for the completely wrong type.

Admittedly, in Cambridge it might be easier to meet/befriend/date/sleep with girls of a to you satisfactory intellectual level...

Have you tried joining the politics or debating societies you find at universities? You will find many girls who enjoy a good argument for the fun of it. And in my experience, many are quite pretty.

By the way, be careful about concluding that beautiful girls aren't intellectual just because they come across as shallow at first glance. Some extremely beautiful girls will fake shallowness, for some bizzare reason. Probably the most intelligent person I know is also by far the most beautiful (when I first met her, my mind revolted at the idea that she could actually be real; I had a strange moment of believing that I was inside a film, and was waiting for music to play and the camera to pull away), but it took me almost week to realize she was far more than met the eye.
